Just figured I would share this build I am currently working on. It started life as a Winchester 97 (production date 1907) and was reincarnated as a M97 Trenchgun replica. Cut the barrel to 20 inches, added heat shield with bayo lug, new furniture and refinished the gun/wood. All I need to finish is the butt plate, rear sling swivel and leather sling. Figured it was this or buy a repro Norinco and it seem wrong to not at least start with the same model gun they originally started life as. [img2=]

Slamfire it will, all the 1897 shotguns are able to do this. Rumor on the street is the new repro Norinco will do it as well.

Wasn't sure that is why I asked. I knew the trench guns do but not sure about commercial versions.

^ The M97 used by the military was a commercial produced version that got modified for military use by the Ordnance Corp. As far as I know there were no military contracts out for them like the Garands, Carbines and 1911s. Would be cool to own a shotgun made by IBM or RockOla for sure though!
