Google maps has pac-man feature now, just in time for April Fools (last year they did a pokeman thing). You do need to be centered on a place with "enough" roads, recommend no dead-ends or else you're ghost bait. Then click on on the pac-man thing in the lower left.

Nope, Jeff, can't agree, gun nut that I am. A single shot 249 is just a very heavy M4, INMHO.

Agree but one thing I do like about it - it's belt fed :guns: :guns: :guns: :monkey:

It would be fun to try once but not worth buying IMHO

All of my guns have a purpose. Ok, almost all of them do. The M249S would just be about the cool factor, and if I had a whole bunch of money burning a hole in my pocket... I'd buy it.

On another note: it may come in handy in the upcoming zombie apocalypse assuming one has access to a machine shop. I'm just sayin'...

Are you kidding me? Dehydrated booze, just add water!
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/powdered- ... 21481.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) -- The creator of powdered alcohol is furiously trying to fend off efforts to ban the product in Maine and across the country before it even hits stores.
After winning federal approval last month, Palcohol founder Mark Phillips is preparing to soon begin selling the powder, which makes vodka and rum drinks or cocktails when mixed with water.
...
Palcohol will come in small pouch that's equivalent to one shot of alcohol. By adding water, juice or soda, one can make vodka or rum drinks. Adding water to the cocktail versions makes a Cosmopolitan or margarita. A lemon drop flavor has yet to gain federal approval.
That's awesome :lmao:

I thought about something like that, but in capsules, a few years back. Too bad I don't know any science ;) Huge potential, lots of money, and I'm sure many, MANY disasters waiting to happen.

I was just talking to a friend about skydiving & one of the things he said, "It's safer than motorcycle riding, it almost never goes wrong!"

"Almost never goes wrong..." :lmao:
My reply, "And if it does, you'll only care for a few seconds."

"Almost never goes wrong..." I still can't believe he went there :lmao: That needs to be a plaque in a skydiver's office :lmao:

I went skydiving once, back in the days before tandem jumps. They put me through about 4 hours of training on the ground. I recall that most of the training started with, "this will never happen, but...."

I stepped out of the plane at 3,500', on a static line, arched, counted to 5 elephant, looked up, and everything they said would never happen, happened.

My chute went up, twisted up and tied itself in a nice little ball. Just enough of it opened to send me into a violent spin. A little voice in my head, "if you panic, you die".

I recall every detail such that I could write a few chapters here, but suffice it to say I walked myself through every bit of training in a few seconds. I went through the process they called a "cut away", even thought it didn't actually use a knife. It's kind of important to get the tangled main chute out of the way before you open the reserve.

I got the reserve chute opened within about 13 seconds, and was under canopy at 1,800 feet. Yep, fell about half way. Decided skydiving was not my sport.

Why are (most) gym rats pretty much useless outside the gym? I only say most because I haven't met them all.
Gym rats work their butts off to get in shape, get strong, get buff, whatever... But ask for their help outside the gym & they have as many excuses for not helping as I have for not going to the gym to begin with - if they bother with excuses at all.
I am old & fat, not in good shape (unless you need to trace out a circle) but if I am able, I will help people move their belongings, move scrap metal (been doing that all week), even help pull an elk down out of the mountains if at all possible.
I have asked several gym rats for help in these sorts of things & other things but none would help. WTF are they working so hard for if they aren't going to actually apply it to something useful? :skep:

I think it is gym dependant. The last gym I joined, I became a gym rat. I helped people all the time, but then again that was the "culture" at that family run, 3 location business. I've also gone to some of the bigger ones like Golds... they were often filled with muscle-heads who more more interested in posing in front of the mirror.

Also had to love the women who showed up in full war paint and high fashion. Try one that has a full schedule of group fitness classes, I have found those have a better learning atmosphere than the gyms that focus solely on pumping iron.

Just my $0.02...

As always, YMMV. :)

I have a FNS 9LS and a octane 45, so I thought I would go to EFK and order a threaded barrel for it. Placed order a bout 15 min ago, site said backorder not uncommon for them. Just got a call confirming my order was for a long slide 9 and come to find out it in stock. and will ship shortly :thumb:

A small peek into something I have dedicated my life too and one of it's most influential teachers who recently passed away.

On behalf of Birankai International, with deep sorrow, Birankai North America announces the death on June 5th, 2015 of our Founder and teacher T. K. Chiba, Shihan. Martial artists here and around the world salute his life as they mourn his passing. During more than 50 years of training and teaching, Sensei inspired, forged and changed the lives of generations of students. United in gratitude for the great gift he gave us, we offer our condolences to his family.

A celebration of Sensei's life will be held at Birankai North America 2015 Summer Camp. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a gift for the family.

Need some ideas...
I am installing lights into my utility trailer, I'm also installing a small battery so that I don't have to hook up my truck. The lights and switches are done but I need something to hold the battery. The battery is 2.25in thick x 3in wide x 4in high and weighs less than 4lbs. I want to use the trailer as a hunting camper so the container needs to handle a bit of bouncing around. Don't want plastic, was thinking a wire basket of some sort.
I checked electrical boxes (1gang, 22 cu. in.) but the crap inside makes them too small & larger sizes are too big. I thought about a shower caddy but they aren't high enough, office trays are too small, bicycle baskets too big, & so on.
Anyone have other ideas? I keep looking but nothing I see really works.
The width can be 3in or 6in.
Appreciate any help, thanks.

Don't like the plastic but otherwise could work... If I can't find/make anything better, might try that.
satellitedr3ams suggested ammo cans but I don't have any that size or know of any that would be close to that size.

So my mom just tried to set me up for identity theft...
She sent me a text the other day saying her friend said his company is hiring engineers and that I should apply now so that I can be that much farther along once I graduate.
I looked up the company, they're a general engineering company out of Portland, OR, but they don't do anything related to my degree (nuclear). There is typically some overlap in the disciplines so I send the guy a message & ask for more information; that's when the red flags started. The person wouldn't answer any questions about the job, they would only send messages through facebook (which you need a court order to get an IP from), I HAD to have a gmail account to email them, and they wanted me to email my application to a gmail address instead of a company email.
All this is setting off every spidey sense I have so I ask my mom how well she knows this guy, aaaaaannnddd queue the epic facepalm....

She's a facebookaholic, always online & playing their online games. She gets friends through those but apparently she also accepts friend invites from random strangers (I can't get it through her fossilized cerebrum that this is asking for trouble). It turns out that her 'friend' with the job is one of these random people who just started messaging her on facebook. Um, what? That's not a friend mom...
And this 'friend' wants me to send my application, replete with all kinds of personal information, to a generic email account?

I respectfully chewed her out but I still don't think she quite gets it.
Anyway, I called the company & warned them about this scammer. They did check their records, no one by that name even works there. They did say they are taking applications but not for nukes. :?:

Blade's already a bit bent but I just went for it anyway. It worked fine, chewed through sheet metal like butter; but for any real steel application, I'll need to change the blade.
End result seems good enough - for now... Will see if it leaks next time it rains.

All total, it cost me less than $100 for parts & supplies.
The cheapest quote to have it professionally installed was $350.

EDIT: It rained, no leaks. Yippee!

Colorado theater shooter, James Holmes, got sentenced to the maximum possible 3,318 years in prison. In other words, life with no parole.

Question though, why?
If there is no chance (for a criminal) of rehabilitation & someone becoming a useful member of society, why keep them alive? Just kill him/her & be done with it.
I can understand life without parole if it is part of a plea agreement but a straight up conviction?
I know the death penalty was on the table for this but it was a split jury & so they couldn't pursue it as per state law but this still seems like a waste of time/resources to me.

Yes they exist (that last one is my favorite real one for the time being) but they aren't the norm which is depicted in the movie. And that hoverboard isn't self powered.

Finally got back out SCUBA diving today. I stopped diving more than a decade ago because I got transferred inland; no where to play but no time either. Moved to a small town with a reservoir & asked about a search & rescue dive team. Got on the team & since they were already training new divers, I went with them for a few refresher dives. Good news, all of my gear still fit & passed inspections and all of my tanks passed the hydro tests. Bad news, my computers needed new batteries & a mask fell apart when I tried to clean it. Batteries & 1 piece of faulty gear after 10+ years in storage, I can handle that. :thumb:

That's uber cool!

There are caves, here, underwater. People die down there and the rescue team has to go retrieve their bodies.

It's stuff of which nightmares are made.

*shudder*

Yeah cave diving hell fucking no.

Even worse are the Sump divers. Basically you go into a regular cave that has water flowing through it, you get to the back/end of the cave where the water is coming from.
Guys then dive it.

Sump diving and it's so deadly it makes normal cave diving seem like diving in a swimming pool. Every sump diver my dad has known over the years has died doing it.

I'd dive a cave with the proper training & equipment but that sump diving (never heard of it before) sounds like intentional suicide, about like diving drainage canals. Nope.

Cave diving is demanding enough! I certified years ago in Florida. Lots of training and even more equipment is required. As one of my instructors used to say, buy the best equipment you can find because you don't want your tombstone to read "Here lies (insert your name here). Too cheap to buy the best". It was an experience that I don't regret but probably would not bother with again if I could roll back the hands of time. By nature, cavers are explorers. Pushing the limits is the excitement of the discipline. Sadly, far too many find that limit.

Glad to see you getting wet again! Be safe.

Got hold of some purple potatoes at work. They are about the size of reds.
Image
Never seen or tried them before so I grabbed a few. Made tater pancakes & am currently making something else (roasted garlic something something).
They taste & cook like regular taters but there is virtually no shelf life to these things. Straight from farm & a few were starting to go bad within 24hrs.
Someone said they were hybrids & another person said the taters were originally imported from South America but yes, they are actually supposed to be purple; I don't really care, I just wanted to try them. Apparently there are other colored ones out there too so I'm curious about also trying those out.

Such is the life in rural Idaho

Photobucket has apparently changed their terms of service, they now require you to pay for 3rd party image hosting (that's what the img tags on the forum are).
Guess I'll be deleting that account, just hope imgur doesn't follow suit.

Couple of mine still do too but most are replaced by a gauge thingy about updating account to enable 3rd party hosting (which they want to charge for). As 3rd party is the only reason I have that account, it is now useless. Well, at least there's still imgur...

I've switched over to flickr. I can hardly use PB because of all the ads even with Ad Blocker

No it doesn't, it's got the same gauge thingy mine does.

Yeppers, mine initially worked, but I see the pic now has the gauge. Anyone know if there's an easy way to migrate the hundreds of pics from photobucket to another host?

My pic stayed up for about 12 hours, then switched to that gauge. I'm still looking for a way to migrate all my pics/albums on photoshop to another host. No luck so far though :(

Does imgur have a time limit on pics uploaded there? I know I had more than 2 pics on that site :?

If they do it's quite a while... like probably at least a year.

$300.00 but it must be done with the accurizing package since entire gun break down is needed and the coating changes how the internals engage. Also I have found with the NP3+ that the slide when the pistol is fired moves much faster and smoother. Our HD magazine springs and HD recoil springs are needed to ensure proper feeding.
