press and die question regard coating on brass

I have been attempting to resize some brass. They have been cleaned using an ultrasonic cleaner. I have redding dies and a Forster Co-ax press. I used Hornady one shot lube, Imperial wax and iso/lanolin. And still the laquer is peeling off the cases. What could I be doing wrong? And I even bought a second set of dies to see if it was a die problem.

GONRA suggests:

Measure resized cases vs. factory ammo to see if the dies are copulated up.

If THAT'S OK, check centerline alignment of your press / dies / shell holder.
(Yeah its EASY TO SUGGEST but HOW DO YOU DOIT?)

MAYBE you can see if coating comes off on one particular cartridge case side - proceed from there.
Idea is to rotate shell holder to find a (possible) "sweet spot" to negate
any "off center tolerance" buildups on your particular mechanical assembly.

One would believe that Redding and Forster are First Class manufacturers, but who nos?

It's funny but I thought I had figured it out. When the jaws close they seem to be holding the case at an angle. So I tried adjusting the jaws and it worked for a bit but it seems that every now and then it scrapes a case. It seems to not only take the coating off but it is actually scraping the brass. I have the adapter to use a shell holder and I will try that tomorrow. But If not I'm out of tricks. I hate to think that I did wrong in getting this press. Well at least when it comes to using it for 5.7.

Possibly you could go the Lee Shell Holder. The one I got is much tighter the the others I have tried. Shell is held closer to verticle after I take my hand away. I never have to guide the shell into the dies. The one negative is, it is not cut out to allow for "popped" primers. When I change to the RCBS shell holder to process the shells with poped primers, it is very obvious the shell has a lot of play and needs to be guided into the dies. Mis-alignment on the up stoke causes what you described and distorted neck sizing. The up stoke causes what you described and distorted neck sizing.

I like the Hornady lube for reprocessing problem cases. If I'm not getting the sizeing or appearance after reprocessing the round, into the culls.
