Some of their loads, yes. That seller had a number of their loads for sale on GB at one point. IIRC they were utilizing Cutting Edge Bullets in one load and a VMAX projectile in another.

Please don't make multiple threads for the same topic. If, for some reason, you cannot find one you made just click on "view your posts" in the upper right just under the search function.

Amazing how the seller knows nothing about this ammo. Also how it's all from his "Deployed" friend.

ARIS had/has a few loads for the 5.7x28mm cartridge at one point;

- Bonesnap (looks to be the 55gr flat base Raptor by Cutting Edge Bullets)
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =344903958" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

- Defender (looks to be the 50gr Cutting Edge Raptor projectile)
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =347540251" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

- Exterminator (looks to be the 35gr flat base V-Max projectile by Hornady)
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =344900976" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

- Firefly (unknown red tracer, but wouldn't be surprised to learn if these aren't M196 55gr red tracers)
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =344902707" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

- Widow Maker (looks to be the 40gr Varmint by Nosler ... or the 40gr V-Max by Hornady ...)

I tried different search engines multiple ways trying to find any information on them and came up empty. It is looking like its an individual who is trying to bypass making and selling laws by claiming its from a deployed friend. Either way without verifiable proof of a actual company it seems really odd. I have tested and tried the Cutting Edge bullets shown and had good results but I would never try to load them backwards as a flat faced solid. I dry fit and tested some and it caused to many issues. Just to get it to chamber well required it to be seated way to deep in my opinion to be safe.

Same here. The ammo listed on GB looks interesting (he even has a molly coated hollow point round), but there are basically no specifications on the velocity, energy, or the behavior of the rounds. I messaged the seller days ago and he hasn't responded. Also, absolutely no information about "ARIS" anywhere on the web. :ponder:

FWIW, Cutting Edge boys say that their bullets work loaded either way, but I agree with you. They're seated way to far back, and having played around with handloads of them, I can't get them to shoot well. They kind of remind me of the 1959 case of 7.62x25 I bought a couple years back. At then feet, you are lucky to get them in a 12 inch group

Did you test the velocity on any of them?

I am interested in the tracer ammunition.

I just recently read an article about "exploding bullets" being used by the Russians in WWII which turned out to be tracers. They were very effective at removing pieces of their intended target. I can imagine the use of tracer bullets in a self defensive shooting would be problematic, but would there be enough phosphorus or magnesium in a 5.7 tracer round to create a small "explosive" effect on tissue?

I'm envisioning another round for EA; the RoasTOR...

"911, I've just been involved in a shooting. I was attacked, in fear for my life, and I defended myself."

"What? You want me to describe the attacker?"

"I don't know, I shot him once and he caught fire and ran off. I see some smoke coming from the alley across the street..."

Yep you got it.

And I don't chrono loads that don't shoot well, so I never did chrono the cutting edge loads, and I have never used those tracers.

No he is still up here, still under probation and can't leave the state. BUT he would sell information at a drop of a hat.
