EA Raffle to help the family of Jeremy LaRue

Post by panzermk2wife » 06 Jul 2013, 22:45

It’s been a while since we have done a raffle of any kind. But the reason we are doing this raffle is to help raise funds for the LaRue family. Who are the LaRue family you ask?

Jeremy LaRue was our FedEx driver for the past 5 years. This means he was contracted by FedEx as a small business owner. He did not have medical or life insurance as these are both very expensive for any small business owner.

Last Sunday, June 30, 2013 he was in a motorcycle accident and was flown to the nearest hospital where he died about an hour later. So as you can imagine the medical bills & funeral bills his wife Sonia and 2 daughters will be faced with.

Jeremy was a good person. When my boys were younger and not in school yet he would let them help bring our packages to his truck even though it would slow down his pickup and delivery schedule because they could only carry 1 or 2 boxes at a time. But he was happy to let them help. And because of his patience and kindness to the boys we felt we needed to do something to help is family.

100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be given to his wife Sonia.

We are raffling off ONE 5.7x28mm Accurizing job which is valued at $350.95.

We as a family based company will also match dollar for dollar of the amount raised by this fundraiser.

$20.00 per ticket entry

$10.00 donation only-No entry in the raffle

Raffle Tickets will be sold through Thursday, July 18, 2013

You will be emailed your raffle ticket number(s)

We will pull the winning ticket sometime on Saturday, July 20, 2013.

An email will be sent out to those who have participated in the raffle along with the winning number as well as on our website.

Sorry Lisa. My browser isn't refreshing, but I sent you a PM.
Curious if Paypal is an option now since this isn't a 'gun related' issue?

I know I should have used our credit card processor but had opted to use PayPal as most people are familiar with them.

Well I just received an email from PayPal stating that I am in violation of their policy. So I have disabled the PayPal Buttons on our website and those that were sent in the email earlier. And I requested a bank transfer sooner than I wanted to. I will let everyone know if PayPal has honored the transfer by 7/12/13

I have it now set up through our credit card processor. Please follow the link below:

http://www.eliteammunition.net/ea-raffle-2013.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

We are now up 31 Raffle tickets sold

PayPal claims they are going to honor those that went through yesterday
But I won't be absolutely sure on 7/12/13 I requested a transfer from my PayPal account.

Lisa, my Chase account has been debited for the $20 - if you don't receive it, PLEASE let me know, I will use the Credit Card option on your site and re-send it. I can always use a reason to argue with PayPal for anything really. That would be such crap if they don't allow you to receive it. It's going to a good cause, what does Paypal say exactly is the violation if I may ask?

I definitely will do jckilla

Below is the email they sent me and what gets me is I know other people who use PayPal for raffles all the time.

But " YoSamittySam " is making an absolute KILLING on GB thru PayPal selling your stuff. Over $15,000 so far. Looks like he has an endless supply of the best ammo EVER manufactured for the 5.7 ( my opinion! ) What a total Dou&%e - I would love to say something to PayPal regarding it, however other people have voiced that I shouldn't. Karma will catch up. I don't even think I've ever seen him in the forum - sorry to have gone off topic, but i just saw his listings again.

So the final tickets for the Fund Raiser Raffle have been sold & donations collected

We will be presenting Jeremy's widow Sonia with a check for $3,100.00 later this evening at the Fund Raiser that their family is having.

Again we want to thank everyone for their generosity.

It truly means a lot to Jay & I along with our kids.

We will have the video of the raffle posted some time today.
I will say it was very emotional for me when I presented the check to Jeremy's widow Sonia.

One of the items they had on the silent auction table was an autographed drum skin, autographed drum sticks and autographed guitar picks from Cheap Trick which got their start in Rockford, Illinois. While we didn't get to meet him these items were hand delivered by Bun E Carlos.

Jay was so excited when we won the auction :)

The boys really wanted to win this beautiful painting.
We won it and then I realized it was painted and signed by Jeremy's daughter Ashley.
So needless to say it will be going on the wall in the boys room :)

Good Afternoon Everyone

With all the tickets sold & donations we were able to present a check to Jeremy’s widow in the amount of $3,100.00.

Again I cannot thank everyone enough for their generosity.

As with every raffle we have ever done we recorded both Sonia pulling the winning ticket as well as my presenting the check. I can say that with presenting the check things got very emotional for both the LaRue family & myself.

Here is the recording of the raffle

Congrats to the winner of the EA Accurizing

Again thank you to everyone who participated

Thank You & God Bless
