AR15 purchase

On advice of this forum, I explored the Bravo Co. AR15. Unfortunately, they seem to be back ordered at their distributor RSR. I did read about a new AR15 by Adcor Defense ($1600.00) and it looks very interesting. Anybody got any experience with this manufacturer?

They look interesting, I've never heard of em. I ordered a Bravo Upper and will be getting a Bravo lower when I get home.

I was really interested in these for a while since I wanted a side charger in 300blk. They took to long to get started on those so I ended up building my own. However, I still think that they have some great features. Initially they have some teething problems, but I have heard nothing but good things lately.

I'll say this about BCM... there's a reason they're harder to get. They have a good reputation and build quality.

The Adcor deal looks interesting. Couldn't see anywhere on their site where it mentioned if the charging handle was reciprocating though. Not a deal breaker, but it does look like it runs quite a ways out the front end so if it did reciprocate, it might be a knuckle buster. Which leads me to believe it doesn't.

BTW, $1600 would almost buy you a nice Noveske 16" rifle. If you're willing to go $1600, wait another month and drop the extra $300, in my opinion.

It looks like I will be getting an AR carbine sooner then later. I have my heavy AR but due to it's weight and length it's only good for bench work.

At the NRA show Magpul was giving away black P-mags. I now have over a dozen of them. Also due in part to ammo trading I have M4 quad rails, adjustable stocks and everything else NIB short of a receiver to build an AR.

Personally, I wouldn't pay any more extra for any forged AR. I would just get a stock RRA, Bushy, or DPMS.

If you want to upgrade, go Billet. As far as ARs go, billets are pretty good no matter then company. CNC Machining pretty much standardizes reciever manufacturing.

My personal favorite is SI-Defense, though there are many other great billet AR makers.

But yeah, if it is forged, you are better off paying less for a factory AR, unless they have put on a custom barrel, then that might make a difference. From what I can tell, Adcor, does not offer that in their 1600 gun.

I bought one of the low end M&P 15 sport AR's, and put a bump stock on it just to play with. I tried the stock on an AR 22 but it would not cycle more than 3-4 rounds. I think I tried every .22 round on the market. It really did not matter.

Noveskes are decent options. Though for what you get with their forged guns, I wouldn't pay the extra.

What? :laugh: they aren't really any good! About as good as a RRA, Bushie, S&W, or colt barrel. Mass produced.

It was impossible to find one of the top guns in Atlanta unless I was willing to pay list plus. I did find a LMT piston AR15 with a 16" barrel and I jumped on it. Pricey but I plan to keep it for a long time. Going to the range next week to sight it in.
