Price increase on factory ammo?!?!

Post by lazi » 23 Mar 2010, 15:39

I would usuallly stop by Bass Pro every now and then so when i was there I would snag a box or 2 of 5.7 for $22 or $23 dollars. I was in there yesterday and the price was $27.99!!!! Now I'm not one to make a big deal over $5 but that's a nice price jump if you ask me. A dollar or two would make since but $5!!!

It may just be BPS doing it but I'm shopping online from now on. Plus I have been wanting to try some Elite Ammo stuff anyways. I might as well get it right if I'm gonna spend.

I've noticed most online places took the ss197 up to $20.00-$21 from around 17-19

Ya i noticed the price increase when i was at bass pro last week.. What a joke.... I think they are just trying to cash in on ammo that they have in stock... BC online retailers haven't increased their prices in a similar ratio....

Cheapest I saw was $23 at the gunshow this past weekend. Online I found a place that's selling 1000 for $349. (with about $10 more for shipping) That's about 18 bucks a box.

It's still at $19 a box for SS 197 online. Shop around.

Napa (yeah the parts store) in my town sells 197 for $20 a box + tax = 21.25 about, it's less than 22 bucks out the door. I guess I have it good

I'm guessing the stores that are still below $20 a box, are based on stock sitting on the shelves already. As soon as those places sell out, when they re-order, you'll see the increase. As I understand it, FNH is raising their prices on SS197.

Online pricing has be steadily going up. Our prices from our suppliers have gone up 20% every 3 to 6 months for the past 2 years.

This is atrocious. First we have to deal with all our normal calibers going up. Then they do this to our FsN's and P90's. This is maddening. I want to rage but I know it'd be in vain.

its up to $30 locally around the DC area, but that's around the same 6$ increase that's happened to normal calibers, like 45acp..... since January...

SEG sells it for $27/box. Not bad considering its not really in the biz of selling ammo

Gotta admit, down TX way everything seems to be slowly going back to normal. Prices at the reloading store (which carries some factory) are half of what they were a year ago.
