Ryan is the guy who cleans and breaks down the FsN's that come in for work.

FYI even if your gun is sent in for something other, like night sights or general trouble shooting it still gets stripped down to the bare frame and totally scrubbed clean and lubed up with Froglube.

I feel bad now that I sent in my gun. I had shot it the day before and just gave it a quick remoil clean. Sorry for the extra work!

We clean all no matter what.

STP oil treatment, White Lithium grease and wheel bearing grease are the worst. I know some guys love to use it but the issue is the grease compacts down into a hardened carbon, unburnt powder gunky mess from hell. It gets so packed into the frame, where you can't see it, we have to soak the frames in a bucket of simple green just to get the frame pins out.

Plus while it is anecdotal I believe automotive style greases attack the glue used to hold in the front guide rod into the frame causing it to loosen.

Hmmm.. I put a little black wheel bearing grease on the slide rails. It was an old AK trick I learned. You think I should stop? The stuff works really good.

I agree. I really don't lube my pistols all that much. I pretty much use CLP and Remoil to clean, wipe it down to almost bone dry. Never had failure to feed.
