Impending Doom

Post by Mister Freeze » 29 Jan 2013, 11:20

Given the current fear of legislation, if I could manage to get myself deputized, wouldn't that insulate me by making me a member of Law Enforcement? Apparently, the politicians hell-bent on disarming the public feel safe doing so because they have the benefit of law enforcement-provided security. If I cannot defend me and mine as a lowly citizen, would bumping my status up to LEO work?

Probably. But former LEO/MIL are not exempt from the wrath of the foolish so I can't say for how long that it might insulate you.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

Put your effort in forcing elected leaders into doing the right thing.

Originally, in the days of Klinton, I went that route.
Didn't prevent them from keeping me from purchasing or obtaining a 'banned' evil black rifle...

aha! A precedent! Now to find a friendly LEO to deputize me. A lot harder than it should be... ;)

Honestly, getting deputized isn't the issue. KEEPING it is.
You have six months to get your butt through CLEET (in Oklahoma, anyway) whereas police depts give you a year. Then there are the legal ramifications of DOING your job in this liberal touchy, feely, hate the po-po world...
Your best bet...become a reserve and then never serve. Just stay inactive but on the books.

I was thinking more along the lines of hitting up a LEO that I loosely know, but on a serious note, that's worth considering. We'll keep an eye on CSPAN...

If you want a clear picture of what's ahead, read or listen to Glen Beck's book, "The Overton Window". Impending doom, indeed. The book will frighten you.

What is to stop a sheriff from deputizing every citizen in his county who have no legal restrictions from it? Or a Governor adding all its citizens to their state militias? No private citizen will own a firearm, It will be 100% military...hahahahahha

well, that's kinda the point; the line between the have's and have not's could actually be that simple.
