BATF at it again! Magazine limits, rails, lights, etc

Post by Prepper » 23 Apr 2011, 06:00

Declaring that activities that were “generally recognized” as legitimate “sporting purposes in previous studies are not necessarily the same as those activities that are generally recognized as sporting purposes in the modern era,” the study outlines a number of features of shotguns wherein “sporting use” cannot apply, many of which are common in hunting and self-defense:

• Folding, telescoping, or collapsible stocks;

• bayonet lugs;

• flash suppressors;

• magazines over 5 rounds, or a drum magazine;

• grenade-launcher mounts;

• integrated rail systems (other than on top of the receiver or barrel);

• light enhancing devices;

• excessive weight (greater than 10 pounds for 12 gauge or smaller);

• excessive bulk (greater than 3 inches in width and/or greater than 4 inches in depth);

• forward pistol grips or other protruding parts designed or used for gripping the shotgun with the shooter’s extended hand.

Better to have a tank when you don't need it then to need a tank when you don't have it.

This is all part of their "study" that ends, I think on May 1st, to try to violate our right to own self-defense shotguns.

Glenn Beck talked about how Cas Sunstein, our 'Regulatory Czar', can circumvent our Rights, the Congress, oversight, everything...simply because he IS the Regulatory Czar. HE, and he alone, gets to decide how to regulate anything and everything. He has more power, unconstitutionally, than the President, the Congress and the Supreme Court combined.
Never confuse 'The will of the Majority' with 'The will of God'.

You know that it's not going to stop at shotguns...

Talked to the ATF Investigator I know that covers Fargo/Moorhead. He said that he thinks the study will not be a good one. He did say that there are already legal battles primed to hit when the study ends. Apparently the ATF knows it will be a fight from the get go and several members of the brass are revolting against it already.

I can only hope there are principled freedom loving men and women still in a place to do something to combat this tyranny.

+1 more wasted money to go after legit/law abiding citizens. Maybe if the government decided not to do studies like this they would have more money to spend elsewhwere. Oh thats right, they can just raise taxes, lower the AMT, drive fuel prices up and over regulate us even more. It's worked great so far, lets keep at it.

The liberals in this administration know they will never be able to overtly limit gun rights, so they are trying to do so covertly. They hope that once it is brought to the supreme court, they will be able to sway Kennedy unlike with Heller and McDonald. Either that or hope he retires and is replaced by another activists judge.

Do your contacts recommend that we contact our second amendment supporting congressmen and women?
