Has anyone used this brand of ammunition yet? and if so was it a clean burning ammo? I bought the ammo guy's last box's of M1 Carbine ammo at the gunshow back in july.

Re: aguila ammo.
I used some a few years back. It was their SSS for my .22. It worked well, and I had no problems or extra cleaning required.

Re: aguila ammo.
I've only used their super cobre in 22LR. It was EXTREMELY quiet, the projectile is barely heavy enough to travel 200 meters. Great for neighborhood cats and annoying birds in city limits.

yea only the .22 ammo here. I will say the SSS sniper .22lr ammo is pretty dirty, but their
other stuff is pretty clean.

Here is a link that might help.
I personally (.30 carbine ammo) would stock up on american brass for reliability, but shoot wolf for target practice, because of the cost savings.
Ammoman.com is a great place to get ammo.
As for the .22lr ammo. I use the SSS ammo with a bolt gun. I love all their .22lr ammo.
good luck and if I already told you what you guys already know, then hey, we are on the same page.

Re: aguila ammo.
I used the remington UMC brand once and ever few rounds the round would not seat all the way in the chamber. and the powder residue around the chamber was real heavy I had given the carbine a thorough cleaning prior to going out for "gun day".

Hm,how'd I miss this?
Anyway I've shot the SSS sniper and it's the only .22 rimfire I've ever had that'll stop a coon with one good shot with others, even Mini-Mags,then tend to run you hit them in the shoulder/heart and they go down like you smacked them with Thor's hammer :skep:
And while they're loaded in Mexico I read the cases are made by Elly so it's good stuff.

Re: aguila ammo.
Pity is, today you have to take whatever is in stock. NEVER shoot a badguy with something you reloaded. The jury will always make it unjustifiable.

Re: aguila ammo.
I have some really deep hollow points from Aguila that are 90gr pills for my .40 they do have some good speed behind them and they seem to burn pretty clean.
I also use the .22 SSS, but to be honest I don't know if they are dirty or not.... all I know is that they are pretty quiet from a long-gun.

Cant just say it was cheaper or the only defensive ammo you could get a hold of? Given current pricing & supplies, I would accept thatfatherfoof wrote:Pity is, today you have to take whatever is in stock. NEVER shoot a badguy with something you reloaded. The jury will always make it unjustifiable.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

Hey Krull, check these out. This will improve accuracy and lethality.

I think the SSS is only effective because of the 60 grains. Now imagine you have that plus an matchgrade hollowpoint SSS...
Re: aguila ammo.
You should see the SSS in the Poseidon rifle. Scary accurate (especially with the Hakko scopes with a specific reticle tailored to the SSS).

Have shot some of their aluminum "frangable" .45 ACP. Pretty clean burning, keep some in

Re: aguila ammo.
If that's the "IQ" ammo, you better hold on to it. It isn't being made anymore (IP licensing issue)...
Re: aguila ammo.
yea it is....have like two boxes of it
Re: aguila ammo.
Aguila/Centurion gets calls all the time for that ammo, but the cost of relicensing the rights to manufacturer it exceeded the acceptable profit margin. It was ingenious how it was made (one of those "Now why didn't I think of that" ideas)...oh well.
