Ugh why do I have such expensive taste?

Post by Boxing Buffalo » 21 Oct 2008, 09:07

I don't want to bubba this thing out, but, I like the idea of a 8 shot .357 for my camping/hiking/playing in the woods gun.

I almost clicked buy it now... :gavel:

I like s&w, but my god they are way over priced. For gosh sakes it is a revolver, not a semiauto.
I got a taurus 617, it holds 7 rds and costs roughly half that.
But the S&W has those rails to attach crap on.

Yeah it's super overpriced.

I'd rather get a Colt Python if I'm going to pay $900-$1000 for a revolver.

EDIT: Overpriced but of course, I still want one!!!

I'm just about ready for my next purchase and I'm floundering on three guns. FAL, PS90, or a Colt Python/This SW. Too many choices!

I find the FAL a hard one to resist. They are fun to work on and great to shoot.

guys, get the fal + extra mags. Obama is a commin, and you can always get the revolvers later on.
Or get the ps90 + mags.

have you considered a Sp101 in .327 mag? Its tiny, wont get in your way when your running around in the woods...and you get 7 shots.

I really wish someone would come out with a little pocket auto in .327mag. Id get it in a heartbeat. I'd also love to reload that little sucker to see what its true potential is.

that price is well below msrp, but is there value in the gun itself?
Hell no. If it was 1/2 that price, I still would be reluctant to get it.
Another item that is on the back of the wish list..

I pretty much have my heart set on something that stop anything I come into contact with. I'm 100% confident that a .357mag would do that.

That's weird that the .327 used to be such a popular caliber, went extinct nearly, came back in '84, and is now back again. From what I read, it's got twice the punch of a regular .38 special load, and nearly the same punch as a .357, with less kick. Sounds interesting.

This model taurus has a ported barrel, holds 8 rds, has a key hammer safety and is less than 1/2 the price of the S&W.

I like the .357 because of ammo availability and the variety as well.
Now if you can just find some 8rd moon clips you'll be good to go.

Taurus is a great alternative to S&W..... revolvers that is.

I'm glad I didn't impulse buy that thing. After a long day of thinking, I fired an email off to Tanners. PS90 is next :)

Because whoever mentioned that if Obama is coming, and it looks that way, a PS90 would be a good thing to get right about now.

If you want the ballistics of .357 with more shots, get a .357Sig glock for $500. I've got a G35 with a compensated lone wolf barrel and it's my third favorite gun ever. Especially when i'm just goofing around at the range with it with one of the 2' long magazines that hols 27 or so.

I have my heart set on a revolver for my woods gun but, now I have yet another gun to research. I'd never heard of the .357sig. Sounds like a cool round for sure.

The Model 327 has detachable top and bottom rails. The trigger is about as good as the Python. The Colt has better balance but weighs twice as much as the Smith.

Like I said on the other post, most people don't realize how wicked the .357 Sig is. In my Corbon Catalog, it has almost identical velocity and muzzle energy as the 10mm and .357 mag. Look into it. I promise you will not be disappointed in the cartridge and you can get tons of guns in that caliber.

lol....way to resurrect a dead thread  ...especially a thread started and propogated by two different banned members :lmao:
Medula Oblongata wrote:To say that a .357 SIG can near approximate the 10mm is pure crazy talk. 40 S&W is a shortened 10mm case, and .357 Sig is even shorter with lesser internal volume.

I dont see how you can argue with that. Youve got the 10mm, the 40 which is a shortened up 10mm w/ less webbing, and then youve got the .357sig which is essentially a necked down .40 w/ more webbing and less volume.

Image

Just look at these two. The .357SIG only compares to the 357MAG when some marketing guru takes the worst .357 mag load w/ underweight bullets and compares it to the best 357SIG load.

How about $2,875.00 for a Python?

Colt Python .357

$900 to $1,000 might be a bargain?

WHOA why are they so expensive?

Are they antiques/not available anymore?
