I just got a Russian military makarov and I was wondering if this is normal........
When the safety is off and I cock the slide sometimes the hammer drops with it....is this normal or is there something wrong with my gun?

Re: Potential makarov issue
That doesn't sound normal since the motion of racking the slide is also what cocks the hammer. Are you sure you're pulling the slide all the way back? You might not be reaching the engagement point of the sear. If fully locking the slide back and then letting it forward doesn't cause the hammer to set, there's something wrong.
Otherwise you should be g2g. Just to test it, though, I'd load up 2 rounds in a mag and see if it fires both or just one to be sure (assuming the hammer locks back at all).
