Don't like .40. Buy a .357 SIG instead.
If you're set on the caliber, the PX4 is a heavy and wide platform for a pistol. A Glock would be lower profile.

Re: Beretta PX4 law enforcement package
I am not dead set on the PX4 or the .40. A friend of mine is selling the PX4 and since I am in the market for a new pistol I wanted to see what you guys thought before I made any decisions.
I was leaning towards a HK. Any views on them? What models would you recommend? Besides the FiveseveN all my other guns are .45 1911s.

Get it cheap, or don't get it at all. I only buy Beretta HGs when I know I can turn around and sell them for more than I paid.

CZ will be cheaper and better. The only HK I have shot was a USP. I was not impressed at all, YMMV.

i agree. if you can get it for cheap enough then by all means, but if its anywhere near market value for the used gun, i would pass. i have nothing against the gun or platform, i just am not a fan of the px4's.flyingirish04 wrote:Get it cheap, or don't get it at all.

HK's used can be had for $450-500. If you haven't shot .40's, I would recommend doing so before getting one.
HK mag releases are non-conventional.

I've shot the PX4 in .40, it was okay but I wasn't hugely impressed or let down. I pulled the trigger and it went bang, nothing exciting. My uncle ended up selling his to buy an FNX-9.

Tend to agree.
Unless you are just getting one heckuva deal, I wouldn't go out of my way to get it.
Nothing wrong with the .40 caliber. Carried one for a long time as a duty weapon. Nice little round for SD. Slightly more than a 9MM, but nothing to get excited about. Gets the job done when handled properly.
Nothing wrong with HK's either. In fact, that's what I was going to pick up when a friend educated me to the FsN.

I have the px4 in .40 and love it! Less recoil than my 2022,fnp and 23. All are reliable and accurate. I carry it on duty.

I have both the PX4 and CX4 in 40 and enjoy shooting both of them. I put a red dot on the CX4. not meant for distAnce shooting but at 50 ft I found both of them pretty accurate. I am giving this combo to my adult son as his first guns.

I LOVE it, and you will never find a more accurate service pistol anywhere.
Re: Beretta PX4 law enforcement package
What about a SIG 226 in .357sig, or a SIG 220 if you want to have another gun in .45? And for the poll, go with an H&K if it's between the Beretta and H&K.
