Welcome :cya:
Im a lefty, and find the Fiveseven to be one of the better handguns available for southpaws. It has a reversable magazine catch, so that it can be operated left-handed. The ambidexterous safety is featured on both sides of the gun. I also like the adjustable sights. As a lefty, I tend to jerk the gun to the right when I pull the trigger. W/ the sights adjusted...Im dead on. I wish I could say the same for my Glock....which requires a lot of hold-over (not something you want to have to think about in a defensive situation).

Re: Left handed shooters
I have been reading how southpaw friendly it is.
my only problem is there any way to move the side release to the right hand side of the gun?
or if not is it something that bothers you?
thank you for the response.

Re: Left handed shooters
Slide release is pretty much stuck on the left side. You can rack the slide back instead of pressing the release lever, that's what I do. Reversing the mag release is easy enough, took me about three minutrs.
The adjustable sights and double safety makes it easy to operate and aim so it's a shoe-in for us lefties.

Re: Left handed shooters
Ive just learned to use my left thumb to release the slide. That, or throw it over to my right hand.
There arent too many truly left-handed pistols out there. Mostly custom jobs...

Re: Left handed shooters
I use my index finger to hit the slide release. left the mag release stock since that's what I'm used to with other pistols and don't want to have to think "which gun am I shooting?" if anything happens where it's needed.

Re: Left handed shooters
Its so painful being left handed in a right handed world....
Re: Left handed shooters
You could always cut off your hands and switch them :p Might be a little awkward, but I'm sure you'd get used to it

As a mechanic, that just wouldn't fly
Still can't get an answer about getting the magazine release switched on my FNP40, local gun shop had to call FN before they would even touch it haha.

Re: Left handed shooters
Being a southpaw myself I can't think of very many guns that I own that I feel inhibited using. Some guns that are supposedly designed "right handed" I think actually are easier to operate left handed ie most single action pistols, remington xp-100. Most autos I can eject the magazine as quckly or more so just using my left index finger. The only gun that I own that is truly akward is a savage striker that has a left hand bolt and ejects right handed. But then again it's personal prefrence and opinion.

Re: Left handed shooters
Even with pistols with reversible mag releases I keep it setup for right hand shooting, and use my left middle finger to release the mags. Only time I use a slide lock is to lock the slide, never to release. Only other control left is the safety, which is ambidextrous. Shooting Five seveN is easy.
