SPR "Beast" project ready for stock-up

Post by p99guy » 26 Dec 2009, 00:00

My Step Son's winchester made FN SPR .308 receiver has came back from Pac-Nor with its new stainless super match 28 inch barrel,"5R" type rifling, 11 degree target crown, threaded for silencer, bolt trued, receiver trued, barrel turned to the same diameter as receiver/No taper.

My SPR A5M without its Harris bipod weights 13.2 pounds....the "beast" weights 12.8 just as a barreled receiver!

The Beast is going off to McMillan after the first of the year for its own A5 stock fitting and bedding.

Good grief John. Looks like you're building a big game hunter there! :thumb:

Very nice! Quite a squirrel gun project there!
Here’s a couple of my favorite Reagan quotes; 1) When you can’t make them see the light, make them feel the heat. 2) The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn’t so.

Lucky son you've got, good guidance from the dad!
Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.
The shooter will always matter more than the gear ever will.
Stop relying on others to do the work for you.
Shoot more, worry less.

Well, he is back right now visiting from Germany...did the barrel break in and worked up a 168gr A Max hornady load with 40.0 grs RL15 powder...5 shots in one ragged hole at 100yds :) He just got his stamp for his YHM Phantom .308 suppressor, he tried it on this rifle and the rig was only 57 inches long lol.
