Sub MOA rifle/equipment and sub MOA shooting are two different things.

The barrel is 90% when it all breaks down, and considering they know how to make sub half minute chrome lined barrels already I don't think sub MOA out of a semi-auto is too big of a claim to be unrealistic.

Sub MOA is only part based on the firearm. Out at distance, load type and bullet BC takes over. 308 Win really tops out around 1200 yards. After that the bullet starts to fall out of the sky due to its lower powder charge combined with 30 caliber bullet. A 7mm Mag, 300 Win, and 338L has enough charge and BC on bullets to hold sub MOA groups past that range, the 338L reaching as far as any 50 BMG will.

Just to clear up some terminology being thrown out here, Sub MOA means less than 1" groups at 100 yards. That is all it means. Therefore, sub MOA would be a group less than 10" at 1000 yards. Any gun that is sub MOA will shoot that way to the operational effective range of the round, regardless of the rifle. A $600 Tikka T3 7mm Mag will shoot as tight as any Gucci brand 1 MOA gun that costs four times that.

You are exactly right! Sorry if I was not clear. My point was that I dont think they can prove it in the real world. A 308 would not be my choice for a thousand yard head shot or paper plate. Most people have never shot five hundred yards. It's kind of a mute point.
