FN SCAR
Anyone know what the latest news is regarding a civilian version of the SCAR?

Re: FN SCAR
I heard from my dealer the scar would be released in Dec. 08, however the heavy won't be out until late next year. He sounded pretty sure but I won't believe it until I see it.

Re: FN SCAR
I'm looking forward to the SCAR-H myself...
Re: FN SCAR
If it ain't an "H", it ain't gravy!
I've got plenty of .223's, I want a .308. I'll wait for the Heavies. Probably going to get it in the shorter config. That's if we can even get SBR's by that time hehehe.

Re: FN SCAR
There is an article about both the SCAR's and FN in general in Combat Arms this month. The said late 08.
And the Heavy is on my list.

Re: FN SCAR
Anyone know what mags the Heavy is designed to accept?
Re: FN SCAR
I looked at the mag and it didnt say Wolly.
Re: FN SCAR
DANGIT that's not what I wanted to hear!
If they took FAL magazines or even M14 Magazines that would be sweeeeet.
The thought of getting my FAL a younger sister is pretty exciting.

Re: FN SCAR
everything I have read so far said propriatary mags for the H. Kind of a bummer since that rules out all those inexpensive FAL mags.

Maybe I will wait on the AR I have been thinking of... The SCAR-L looks really nice! It will accept Pmags, right?

This is where the "Secret credit card" comes in handy lol
Re: FN SCAR
But then how do you explain the extra dough leaving the checking/savings account to pay off the "secret credit card"?Wollychop wrote:This is where the "Secret credit card" comes in handy lol

Just take out small increments, and before you know it you have enough money to buy a new toy.

Re: FN SCAR
My trick is this: (feel free to use it if you can)
All my expense checks from work are run through the accounts payable system in stead of the payroll system. Therefore I receive paper checks for expense reimbursement and my payroll is direct deposited.
(The wise ones see where this is leading)
"Of course honey, I deposited the expense check from last week/month/quarter. I checked the statement and the totals match."
I used to use a coffee can (literally) to stash my goody dough, but a secret bank account (e-commerce only, no paper statements) is much more convenient.
I got caught once, cost me a HUGE anniversary present that year so I wasn't "technically" lying to her...

Re: FN SCAR
Does anyone know the cost on any of the Scar models?
Re: FN SCAR
Im holding out for the SCAR-57 :ponder:
Re: FN SCAR
Chop, Chop they better come out with all these rifles before Obama Bin Biden take over.
Re: FN SCAR
The "SCAR-57", that would be nice if it could happen in our life time. The civilian model of the SCAR would be great right now.

The SCAR isn't even in their lineup yet.

This was reportedly direct from FNH USA, so it may be the MSRP. Either way, to rich for my blood. Oh yeah, and I live in PRK

Re: FN SCAR
Interesting. I wanna see pics. Isn't that C-more a bit larger than that burris that people have mounted?

Re: FN SCAR
Yes it is larger than the burris. I've fired the slide ride (im sure that's the C More they'll use) VERY sweet on a 1911.

Re: FN SCAR
I think FN has a partnership with C-More for multiple products.
The C-More sights for the FsN are probably the been-waiting-forever 3-dot night sights as seen on the last page of here: http://fnhusa1.com/PDF/FNH08handguns.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (which C-More doesn't seem to advertise.)
As opposed to the various C-More red dots, which FN's been bundling (or bonusing) with various long arms for a while now.

Ooooh, that's a bit clearer Esteves. Weird though, the site that was posted says "day sights".
Oh FN, just release this stuff already!

Seriously, what about the SCAR makes it cost $2700?
Military is getting billed at $1800 and they get 3 uppers, a suppressor, and 10 mags!
Re: FN SCAR
+1, my exact sentiments as well! :gavel:
They must be looking for those folks who bring in $250K per year. They won't be much inclined once the newly elected guvment taxes the hell out of them!

Don't forget it comes with the "fun" setting on the selector.Military is getting billed at $1800 and they get 3 uppers, a suppressor, and 10 mags!
I dunno, I've paid close to that for a gun, but I'm not sure about this one actually :ponder:
I honestly think that my Obama reaction is going to be ammo, reloading components, and maybe a few junkers for plinkin and parts (used ARs)...
Re: FN SCAR
This price may also reflect our current political time, or could get higher because of it.

Para ordnance is also jumping in with what they are calling "the cleanest shoooting autoloading rifle in the world."

Re: FN SCAR
Nice looking rifle. Retails for 2300. Might as well get a SCAR. Plus their website had this:
HAHAHAH. What kind of fuggin pansy complains about this crap? Are you tired of waiting for the recoil spring system next to your ear to quit twanging before you pull the trigger again?

Re: FN SCAR
Wouldnt you have to not be wearing earplugs for the recoil spring to "bother" you? And if you weren't wearing earplugs, wouldnt you already have lost your hearing from the report? And if you've lost your hearing, how could the recoil spring be bothering you?
Re: FN SCAR
I've noticed it, even with earplugs, doesn't bother me though.
