If the girl in the bottom picture was placing the ad in the middle picture, I might just be out a rent check.

Yes it is and if you read her Bio you will see she really just played herself in the Series. Right down to a degree in mathematics and spending most of her life online gaming.

Re: Appropriate humor v2.0
Sounds about right.
That was my favorite show on TV. All my fave shows either get cancelled or they end them.
At least they announced the series finale for Eureka and BSG. Others like Terra Nova just fade into the night, never to be heard from.

Re: Appropriate humor v2.0
In this day and age where ratings is king, shows do tend to go poof, never to be heard from again. It's unfortunate. I thought that BSG had run its course after 4 years and I also believe that they did a fantastic job of wrapping up, but leaving just enough questions for the viewer to answer for him/herself.
Eureka got a little out-there in the final season, c'mon, you have to agree with that, right?
Lost is another series that they "wrapped up" intentionally. While I liked they way they left it - about 90% of the people I talk to about it HATED it to the point that they want to do harm to the writers/producers. I don't see why...

Re: Appropriate humor v2.0
I found Lost after-the-fact and liked the way they wrapped it all up.
I think Eureka could have kept going. True, it became more soap opera-ish, but that was sort of the point, and yeah, a LOT of it was way-out-thereish, but its supposed to be. If it was 'true to life' it would be a documentary, not entertainment.
Yeah, BSG started out with the intent of it being a short term project so they did a good job. They hit the mark, but I still hated to see it go.
But there have been a lot of other shows that didn't make it that I really enjoyed, those were just the ones off the top of my head. Terra Nova being the most recent.

Re: Appropriate humor v2.0
On January 9th, a group of Pekin, Illinois bikers were riding west on I-74 when they saw a girl about to jump off the Murray Baker Bridge . So they stopped.
George, their leader, a big burly man of 53, gets off his Harley, walks through a group of gawkers, past the State Trooper, and says, "What are you doing?"
She says, "I'm going to commit suicide."
While he didn't want to appear "sensitive," he didn't want to miss a be-a-legend opportunity either so he asked ... "Well, before you jump, why don't you give me a kiss?"
So, with no hesitation at all, she leaned back over the railing and did just that ... and it was a long, deep, lingering kiss followed immediately by another one.
After they finished, George gets approval from his biker-buddies, the onlookers, and even the State Trooper, and says, "Wow! That was the best kiss I have ever had Honey! That's a real talent you're wasting Sugar Shorts. You could be famous if you rode with me. Why are you committing suicide?"
"My parents don't like me dressing up like a girl."
It's still unclear whether she jumped or was pushed.

Re: Appropriate humor v2.0
Abbott explaining the unemployment rate to Costello.
COSTELLO: I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America.
ABBOTT: Good Subject. Terrible Times. It's 9%.
COSTELLO: That many people are out of work? ABBOTT: No, that's 16%.
COSTELLO: You just said 9%.
ABBOTT: 9% Unemployed.
COSTELLO: Right 9% out of work.
ABBOTT: No, that's 16%.
COSTELLO: Okay, so it's 16% unemployed.
ABBOTT: No, that's 9%...
COSTELLO: WAIT A MINUTE. Is it 9% or 16%?
ABBOTT: 9% are unemployed. 16% are out of work.
COSTELLO: IF you are out of work you are unemployed.
ABBOTT: No, you can't count the "Out of Work" as the unemployed. You Have to look for work to be unemployed.
COSTELLO: BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK!!!
ABBOTT: No, you miss my point.
COSTELLO: What point?
ABBOTT: Someone who doesn't look for work, can't be counted with those who Look for work. It wouldn't be fair.
COSTELLO: To whom?
ABBOTT: The unemployed.
COSTELLO: But they are ALL out of work.
ABBOTT: No, the unemployed are actively looking for work. Those who are out of work stopped looking. They gave up. And, if you give up, you are no longer in the ranks of the unemployed.
COSTELLO: So if you're off the unemployment rolls, that would count as Less unemployment?
ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down. Absolutely!
COSTELLO: The unemployment just goes down because you don't look for work?
ABBOTT: Absolutely it goes down. That's how you get to 9%. Otherwise it would be 16%. You don't want to read about 16% unemployment, do ya?
COSTELLO: That would be frightening.
ABBOTT: Absolutely.
COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means there are two ways to bring down the unemployment number?
ABBOTT: Two ways is correct.
COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?
ABBOTT: Correct.
COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop looking for a job?
ABBOTT: Bingo.
COSTELLO: So there are two ways to bring unemployment down, and the easier of the two is to just stop looking for work.
ABBOTT: Now you're thinking like an economist.
COSTELLO: I don't even know what the heck I just said!
ABBOTT: Now you're thinking like a politician.
COSTELLO: But what about all those people who are not looking for work, but who would go to work if offered a job--
wouldn?t they then be considered out of work?
ABBOTT: No, If they accepted a job then they would be considered employed.
COSTELLO: But how do they go from not being unemployed to being employed without being out of work?
ABBOTT: That?s when you have to think like a politician.
Doesn't it seem like some things never change...

Bloodied the one guy's forehead - nice!
And not one was wearing a life jacket or PFD of any kind. I realize it's not "stylish" to wear those big things but I do kinda like these:
http://www.mustangsurvival.com/recreati ... table-pfds" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Yeah they're expensive but they don't get in the way & don't get as hot when the sun out.
Looks like most of them are going to end up with a massive headache. But, I can't feel sorry them - when the seas get rough, the smart ones strap in and/or slow the hell down!

Re: Appropriate humor v2.0
I don't think the sea got rough - I would bet that he was trying to jump a wake and it went bad. I worked for West Marine for 3 years as a DM and we sold PFDs that were very comfortable, relatively stylish and not all that expensive. There's really no excuse for not wearing them, especially in a small, fast boat while doing those kind of maneuvers.
I used to see people like that and walk away thinking what Richard Dreyfus' character in Jaws mumbled as he walked away from the overloaded boat: "You're all gonna die."

Re: Appropriate humor v2.0
I use one of the hydrostatic/auto inflatable life jackets when I'm running around, but really all I'm ever doing is point from fishing spot A to fishing spot B. However it's a 50/50 chance the life jacket would do anything for me with running around the river. Half the time it's less than a foot deep and it's all rock shelfs, so who knows if it'd even inflate in time before I hit my head if I ever went flying out of the boat. But then again that's what the console is for, I'll just slam into that.

If you can run on water, what do you need a life jacket for? :psmpsmp wrote:I use one of the hydrostatic/auto inflatable life jackets when I'm running around, but really all I'm ever doing is point from fishing spot A to fishing spot B. Kimmel does this sort of thing often enough, you'd think people would catch on:
iPhone 5 - first look (not available yet so here's an iPhone4s instead), what do you think?
Didn't he do something like this for 2008 election where he asked if people were voting for bho because of "these" reasons? Then he Rattled off McCain's positions, which they each agreed with & blah blah blah...
eagle - the slide thing is cool but the boat's not big enough. Gotta have a helicopter pad on it. If I have enough money for a yacht like that, I'm buying a helicopter too.

Re: Appropriate humor v2.0
When it came to inconsiderate movie-goers, Prince Charles Cinema in the U.K. had had enough -- so it launched an army of volunteer "cinema ninjas" who wear black body suits and pounce on chatty moviegoers in exchange for free movie passes.
The ninjas have been so successful that two other theaters have followed suit.
Here's a first-hand account of shushing-by-ninja:
I normally hate noisy people in cinemas, but I got a call from my friend just as the movie started and thought I could get away with taking it. The last thing I expected was two completely blacked-out people suddenly appearing by our seats and give me and my mates a warning to shut up. It was actually pretty terrifying at first, but then I realised it was a bit of a laugh and a great way to make it clear what I was doing was having an impact on those around me. It certainly made me hang up and shut up for the rest of the film.
