Midway dogtown 34gr hollowpoint

Post by snsarms » 23 Feb 2011, 10:24

Anyone try this in the P90? was wondering if the hollow point would cause any feed problems.

Thanks

I have loaded thousands of them for the PS90. They work just fine.

I've got an ammo can full of these waiting for my PS90 barrel to arrive from Hi-Desert Dog....

iFire, what cartridge length are you using? I loaded mine at about 1.490 to 1.495 and got neck splits with TB at 6, 6.2 and 6.3 gr loads. My velocity at 6.2 is about 40 ft/sec slower than yours.

OAL is 1.500 for mine with a long case OAL of 1.140 - VERY slight "crimp" using just the seating die

40 fps is really close actually - OAL, crimp, and a scale difference of as little as .05 grains could all account for this slight difference

No neck splits for me - I rarely get them at all even at high charges. Are you using 1x brass or...?

they were suppose to be 1x brass that I got from Scharch (bought 1000) - I posted over on that thread what I was seeing...
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=6174&start=80" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I need to try some of the same loads with my own 1x brass (from SS197SR's) but just haven't had time.

Yeah - we are pretty close on the velocities given all the very slight differences that can influence it as you mentioned.
