No you aren't the only one, we've heard it takes a while from several people.

I have not heard any reviews about how their new barrels are (or maybe I forgot) but their old ones sucked if you wanted to save brass for reloading. Just hope you get to use it - its more than I have right now :?:

Just shipped my barrel off to Tornado Technologies. They are gearing up to do a run of FN 5.7's. However, I made the mistake of removing the recoil spring before shipping it to them. Thought I was doing them a favor. They followed up with a telephone call once they received it to let me know that I had made a mistake. They seem like a pretty good company so far.

My Jarvis barrel will be here on 6-21-10. that will be seven months and nine days from order to delivery. I hope this was worth the wait.

That's a helluva long wait. Are you going to reload? Please save your brass wither way - at the very least, some people here will want to inspect them to see if the new chambers are an improvement.

I don't reload, however I did ask Mr. Jarvis about that same issue and he stated that factory FN ammo has a coating on the brass. He said he has asked about what it is and they will not disclose what process they use because it has some lubrication property that allows the cases to extract better. He went further to say that he polishes the chambers better than the factory. ANyway, I'm not blindly defending, just passing on what he said.

Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.
The shooter will always matter more than the gear ever will.

Sorry blueorison about the 'worthless thread'. Anyway, if anyone else is interested the barrel was flawless today w/ 50 bullets sent downrange using my SWR Spectre. the brass was not deformed from the naked eye and looks the same as it does coming out of the factory barrel - the slight discoloration from the laquer and heat. No tears or crimps or nicks! I look forward to spending more time with it maybe this weekend.

That's good to hear! Must have fixed their chambers :thumb:

I just talked to Tornado Technologies about their wait time for weld on threads - turn around time is only about a week according to the lady on the phone. I am not patient enough to wait that long for an improved Jarvis barrel so I am going that route. My suppressor is already in but they wont let me have it until my paperwork comes back from the Bureau of All Things Fun & Exciting

I got a barrel from the same run, ordered mid-December. It works great, worth the wait for something of quality.
