Thanks man! It's the same as JMZ, mine is just in focus. :lmao:
That's a Xiphos light on the rail. Broke two of the damn things before blackhawk finally fixed em up good. Old style switches, apparantly.

Specs:
HK MP5K PDW (3lug barrel) - began life as a SP89 (9mm) - Vollmer conversion!
Fleming Sear
B&T folding stock (replaced the Choate stock)
B&T low profile mount
B&T 30mm quick release mount
Aimpoint CompML3 - the B&T low profile allows a co-witness with the iron sights!
SWR Omega can
B&T sling
I'll post a pic of what she looked like before "the makeover".
HK MP5K PDW before "the makeover"
The original Choate stock is heavier and the Propoint optic with that mount sat too high:

That is beyond sweet, brother. That is awesome. What's her firing rate? Did you reduce it with the Fleming? I've read where a lot of folks reduce the FR on their HK's for various reasons, though I never really understood the appeal of that.
Either way, she's sweet!! And she looks brand new. You've done a wonderful job with her!

Re: Official NFA Photo Thread
Thx Cyberfly: ROF is about 900 rpm. It came with the Fleming. The locking piece "LP" on the HK's is what is changed to slow the rate of fire either to reduce the wear and tear or for using sub-sonic ammo and the supressor. For example mine came with the 110o LP, which was the HK std back in the day. I changed it to the 100o LP, HK later made this their std, and it slows it down a bit. I haven't used the sub-sonic yet but I have the recommended LP when the time comes. This LP (#28/80o) will slow it down more noticeably. There wasn't a mark on her when I got it but my newbieness added a few marks, yet all in all she is 97%.Cyberfly wrote:kwesi-

The really sweet deal is this: I SBR'd the receiver so now I can move the lower with the sear to other HK's or clones. I picked up a V51P (.308) and V53P (.223)...they purrrr with the lower F/A. The clones were made by Vector, are you familiar with them?

PRK NFA M14
It's really lite!
Finally got around to cutting out the foam in the new Pelican case to make room for my OLL-AR15 and M1A Socom2. Neither are NFA, but definitely considered evil by the mucky-mucks in Sacramento.
Keep the banter about the stock to a minimum, i've heard it all before. And i'd probably outshoot most of you with it anyhow. I'd rather keep firing while legal then refuse to shoot or risk prison time.

Re: Official NFA Photo Thread
cyberfly: I'll add your name to the list ;-). Vector unfortunately is apparently close to going out of business. They produced HK looklalike clones. They make a V53P and V51P. These are chambered for .223 and .308 respectively. They are sold as pistols but came with a full auto bolt carrier. Designed for sear owners or for semi auto fun. I understand your comments on the cost factor and feel very fortunate to own a sear. So instead of purchasing another HK factory host in semi for $5-6K to put the sear into you can pay around $1,200 for the clone. As long as you SBR the pistols then you can add a retractable stock and swap the sear between them.Cyberfly wrote:Dadgum eagle, the suppressor is bigger than the baby! Hell no. After handling the U15, I bought one on the spot. And not just cuz my FFL gave me 30% off. It's a heck of a lot more comfortable than it looks. The monsterman is uglier, IMO - and with my enormous hands, I think it would be very awkward.

First exposure: well lit
Second exposure: low (or no) light, add smoke or steam or dust or whatever to get the beam to show up. Since the ambient light is low, the smoke shouldn't obscure the rest of the image.

Love the PS90 case. Nice collection.
Re: Official NFA Photo Thread
It's the pelican 1510. The SBR will just fit if you angle it. I realize that having the tip of the flash hider and the two points of the buttstock touch the case means that any hard jarring to the case will transfer some to the rifle, but the cases are to keep my rifles from getting beat up going to and from the range or camping, so it works fine for me.
Also, the 1510 is nice because it have the wheels and pull out handle. Very handy for when you are drapping a ton of crap into the range. I pull out the stock foam, replace it with new, uncut foam, seperate it in half vertically so taht I can have two layers, and then cut out the shapes I need with a regular razor knife.
Here is a smaller pelican case I did for my pistols:

Thanks much! I have always been a firearms enthusiast, and got lucky picking a wife that shares my interests. When the wife says "Ya, I think that M16 would be a good investment, we should get it." you know you have a winner on your hands. This is the same woman who after shooting my pistols a few times said "ok, I want my own now", and went out and picked the HK P7M8 as her first pistol.f3rr37 wrote:Love the PS90 case. Very nice, P99 guy. The .22 Ruger/Paclite is the only firearm I would get a suppressor for, since I'm not MIL and don't see the use for one if I still need hearing protection. I really love that firearm, sir. Great post

The Bi-loc is the flash hider. There are two nubs on opposite sides of each other for the G5 Suppressor to lock onto. You just line them up with the suppressor, press down onto the barrel and rotate. Reverse procedure to take it off.blueorison wrote:

You elegant bastard, you beat me to the punch. I was waiting on getting my Rotex III before posting pics of the TP9. How do you like that 'can'? I haven't seen any comparisons whatsoever on it; there somewhat of a speciality.
Re: Official NFA Photo Thread
The rotex is simply put the finest can I own. We were having a 'bad ammo' day at the range but here is a video of a friend shooting my TP9 with the Rotex. listen and you can hear the trigger reset and get an Idea of just how quiet that thing is with 148 gr.

Hah, I've seen that video several times, didn't know it was your gun though. Was doing research on the Rotex when I came across it. The only way I know to get one is to contact DSA directly and have your local CLIII purchase it; otherwise, stores just do not carry them from what I've found.
I like how you used the Sig red-dot on the TP9 too, was wondering what to do with mine, tried putting it on the Desert Eagle but the rail wasn't to spec.
Re: Official NFA Photo Thread
You are right about how to get one. Both Rotex and folding stock came from DSA, which BTW wouldn't even talk to me about the stock till they had a copy of my form 1 in their hand. The sig red dot came with another gun I bought, I think, but actually works very well with that weapon. I use an Aimpoint micro on my p90 and don't really see any difference between the two.

It's not a water transfer. I did it all by hand.

From tear down to prep and then paint to rebuild. A total of 1.5 days.
I'm toying with the idea of doing my 10/22 and the XXX can next :thumb:

It's a 10" American Mfg. XXX .556 can. It's pretty quiet on the 10/22.
It does "look" larger that it really is in the picture.
Oh yeah, and that is what she said.... :p

Here is my little 5.7 family.
I just got the HK416 sights, they look good but I think I will be going back to an Aimpoint for the AR57.

I've always wanted one of these, and now I'm on my way to owning one!
Yippee!
A) Waiting for two months to get it built?
or
B) Getting the email that it's shipped but it's coming USPS and will take FIVE DAYS!!!!
Man I hate waiting!! Pics as soon as I get it.

H&K 416 10.5" 5.56
Regarded as "TehSexahh" in the AR world.
Not an HK but the same size as the HK, Oh, and this one's mine, that makes it better in some regards. hehe

Lemme know when you get the Osprey! I have been looking at them, I am researching for my next silencer. Probably will be a 9mm one. Either 9mm or 300 Blackout.

I wasn't sure if I should put this in the humor thread or here. For some reason I think its as funny as a 3 piece snake but since it does deal with suppressors I put it here.
The Gemtech almost completely fits inside of the can. I figure I can secure the end with duct tape & make it look like the can is the can  Tell everyone its a homemade version.
