PS-90 Barrel Question

Post by Devildawg » 11 Dec 2008, 20:23

I just received my PS-90 back from FN and when I was re-installing a CMMG faux-Gemtech I noticed the barrel has about an eighth of an inch play (I can rotate it back and forth about an eighth of an inch). I never noticed this before. I don't have another PS-90 I can look at so could someone please advise me if this is normal? It is the standard length barrel. Thank you.

Thank you both for the very prompt replies. BTW, I also owe Bob Ailes a big thank you for the excellent customer service I received from FNH. On November 24 I sent my PS-90 back because the black USG sight had a flaw on the inside. I received the carbine back today and the sight appears perfectly fine. I had great customer care, they paid shipping both ways and they really had great turn around time despite the hunting season and BO panic. My PS-90 and my IOM are my favorite guns and FN has certainly shown me they care about their customers. God bless 'em.

slight play in ps 90 barrel

Post by 66Tactical » 17 Sep 2016, 03:33

I noticed a week after taking possession and 150 rounds that there is a slight 1/16th rocking in barrel...I believe its a jacket over the real barrel When I bolted on a small quad rail it rocked just a bit probably ok for a light but hinbers a laser's accuracy?
any advice?

thanks folks
Ed

Merged

You're right, the actual barrel is inside a sleeve. And a little play is normal (see earlier posts)

Just to clarify, you bolted a laser straight to the barrel?

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

I won't use the quad secured to the barrel for the laser.... only the light
