Buy a FiveseveN now or wait?? Need Advice!

Post by Jax PS90 » 23 Feb 2010, 08:09

Team,

I spoke to my local gun store today and they have raised the price $100... from $929 to $1029.. I am torn as to which way to go on the pistol. They were $800 or less 6 months ago, since Ft. Hood they are going up way in price, too bad it wasn’t a Glock cause every Glock owners pistol would have gone up in value...

Anyway, question is, will these most likely go back down in price, or do we think they will keep going up? I am not worried about it being banned, it won't, neither will the .45 the guy used in Ft. Hood, but I don’t want to buy at it's peak price.

Thoughts everyone :patriot:

I don't see them going down in price. I say no time like the present.

Go ahead and buy it now.
But call Marcus at SHTF and see if he has any that he can beat their price on. Maybe he can make you deal on a black USG?

If you have the money and want to buy one, buy now. After a year, the +- $100 isn't going to matter to you.

Congrats on the purchase! I love Shooters. I make sure to drop by everytime I'm in the area. Picked up my Black FsN there along with a PK380FE. I wish I would've gotten a FDE or OD, but they only had the Black at the time and I didn't know when I'd be back there. Their prices are much better than what I have here.

If you got it for $999.00 out the door, then they made NO money on you. FN and or the distributors have
raised the cost of the base adjustable site 5.7 to the same as C-more sights. I can do them for $999.95
but you still have shipping and transfer.
I have not purchased any since the price increase, Kind of waiting to see what happens.

To mirror Marcus' comment, I've also seen a rise in price on the 5.7 and will probably no longer stock them in my physical inventory anymore. We still have them on our site though, and I think we'll come in right around $1000 shipped, but you'll still have the transfer fee on the receiving end.

I won a Gunbroker auction for a fixed sight new one 2 days ago for $900 shipped. They had another at that time listed too.

My two cents worth. I bought mine a long time ago. It is an IOM with a round trigger guard. It was about 6 years ago and I paid $895 for it. Today, I really could care less what I paid for it, but I can tell you this, it is a better and more valuable gun today than it was when I bought it. The trigger gets better every time I take it out. I have 5, 20-round magazines and I fill and shoot them all every time I take it out. I take no extra rounds with me so I can limit myself to 100 rounds. I'd go broke otherwise. I'm guessing about 1,500 to 2,000 rounds through it, and she is aging well. I've also been offered more than I paid for it many times at the range. I don't think you will ever regret buying one. Good luck with that square trigger guard, no, you can't have my IOM. :)

Supply and Demand, my brothers. I have seen several new gun shops pop up in my area. They all buy from the local dist. Bangers. So they can pick up their orders instead of paying for shipping. One of the newest shops is run by a retired police officer, who tries to help his fellow compadres out by selling at cost plus 10% on firearms. He has a better inventory since he uses other gun dist., but he has the extra cost of shipping to deal with. He makes his money on the bells and whistles, like ammo to tac lights, plus he has a guy that does custom work on polymers doing grip jobs. So my FsN listed on the shelf for $1075.00 plus tax (nearly 10%), It cost me $500 plus a Para LDA P-14. I was very pleased to get rid of that wheel chalk plus I made him get me one of the FsN from the back room, since there was so much DNA on the display model.
