Hi everyone,
Just picked up a FN 5.7 and had a few questions. Is there a link to advice on holding the gun for best accuracy? Also, I am looking to put a trijicon 3.25 RMR on it. Does trijicon make an adapter piece? Best place to buy said piece and sight? Also, looking at getting a threaded barrel. Seems like most like the EFK one. Any thoughts? Also, on ammo. I will be doing some short range hog hunting with the gun. 50 yards or less. Best ammo? The 197 40g? Elite? Which ammo best for range use? Self defense round...198? What about this hollow point ammo? Any preferred method to sighting in at the range? Pistol vice? Gun bags/other? Lastly, which silencer do folks recommend. SilencerCo? IA slingshot? (micro or regular). Thanks in advance! I will be pouring through threads as well, just wanted some advice and good places to look!

Welcome,
A few ways you can go with the RMR, mine/EA's and Robs at http://fivesevenreddot.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
2 different takes on mounts.
EFK and the one from EA has all sorts of extra goodies.
Hogs, T6B, S4M and our X-terminator when I re introduce it in a few weeks.
Range SS197 stay away from the American Eagle, it's shit and will jam.
Self Defense OUTSIDE T6B or S4M NIGHT STAND Protector 1,2,3,4.
Gemtech SFN-57 if you can get it.

GONRA's Class 3 LGS ordered a Gemtech SFN-57 several weeks ago - seemingly "No Problem"
but we all no "devil's in the details" on this stuff. Believe it when you have it in hand.

Thanks for the info. what will be different with the x-terminator round? If I am sighted to 50 yards, shouldn't be too much drop between range 197's and x-terminator or t6b or s4m?

No since all of our full power loads drop less than a inch at 100 yards.

Anybody in Colorado got one of those Gemtechs? Like to put it up against my Axiom. After that we'll try them both out on some 22s. Oh, nevermind...
Got the EFK barrel, SilencerCO 10mm to 1/2 x 28 adapter, Axiom on the end, nice setup.
Never had any issues personally with the AE factory ammo, but I shoot mostly handloads, and I've heard some stories.
As for holding it, it points just like any other pistol, but has a fairly large frame, like a Glock 20 minus the weird grip angle. Good thing is, recoil is almost nil, so it won't try to get away from you if your grip isn't perfect.
Can't help you with hunting or optics, although I despise my "target" sights and would like to get away from them, options are limited.

What version do you have?
We have nights sights for all versions. If you have a MKI you can go fixed sights.
If you have a MKII and want to do something with that we have an optional lower front blade that allows you to adjust down your rear blade so it's not sticking way up there.
