Re: 36gr Varmint Grenades Reload Advice

Thanks Rapier1772!

I find it interesting to see that the bullet was seated a tad deeper than usual in your load. Any particular reason for doing so?

Re: 36gr Varmint Grenades Reload Advice

This is the frustrating part about this cartridge. There is so little published data that you really have to "shoot by the hip" so to speak. I just dont want to over charge the case either. Seems max load for 40gr is 5.6gr off the top of my head, so I was thinking that modeling after the 40gr V-max ...

36gr Varmint Grenades Reload Advice

I am really scratching my head trying to figure out how to load for the Varmint Grenades. I think this would make an excellent plinking / bunny round but am struggling with load info. Does anyone have advice on OAL for the VG? I am thinking of loading to 1.58" OAL just for simplicity sake but wanted...

Re: A couple random brass / reload questions

I wish Elite sold those separately.

I remember some time ago when my interest in the 5.7x28 was piqued, EA sold them separately. At least thats what my memory is telling me... maybe Im nuts though

Re: Excel Arms X-5.7R Rifle?

I wish I could buy any gun people ask about - for testing purposes of course :monkey: Would that be tax deductible? Man the forum I moderate has sooooo many people asking "Hey, has any one shot this?" and of course its a firearm that the manufacturer announced yesterday. So the firearm wont...

Re: z-max

I think the Z Max thing is hilarious. I mean, how can you even begin to think that these things are gonna be any different?

I actually assumed that they were boat tails, but they are flat based just like the other bulk 55gr bullets I have bought.

But they were cheap so I bought them

Re: z-max

After reading this thread I went and looked at the box of Zombie Max bullets I bought for my AR and compared them to a box of regular V max bullets (both 55gr) and they are 100% identical. They even have the exact same profile when pressed into clay (they both fit in the same impression).

At one point NAA did make a little tip up revolver that was pretty neat. I cant remember why it was discontinued though

Re: A couple random brass / reload questions

Great follow up question: I have shot the brass that I annealed twice and so far I havent noticed any difference. But what I am doing is comparing to a box of brass that I didnt anneal and I want to see if it helps the brass last longer by mitigating cracked necks. I really dont know if annealing wi...

Re: Took PS90 to the range for first time -- got very dirty?

I couldnt believe how much crud was in my PS90 after the first time I cleaned it. I dont know if it was from all the oils from the factory or what, but it was pretty messy. So I soaked it over night in Prolix and it came out clean as the day I bought it  I took it out yesterday to try some rel...

Excel Arms X-5.7R Rifle?

So after a little time playing with my PS-90, Im really starting to like the 5.7x28 and have decided to buy another rifle for my wife since she keeps shooting mine. I like the AR ergonomics and am somewhat torn between buying an AR-57 or the Excel X-5.7R. I like the idea of the Excel for a few reaso...

Re: Anyone shave with a straight razor?

After posting about the Turkish shave, I decided to try the flame thing on a limited basis to see if it helped my ear fuzz... I have some pretty fuzzy ear lobes that are kinda tricky to shave with a razor, so I pulled out a Bic lighter and gave it a shot. It worked amazingly well! I just quickly kis...

Optimum distance to sight in a PS90?

I have been playing with my PS90 quite a bit over the last few weeks and have noticed a rather large difference in POI when changing target distance and I understand that this has to do with how high my optic sits on the rifle. But the point that seems to evade me is what is the best distance to sig...

Re: Anyone shave with a straight razor?

Some time ago I was watching some educational channel and saw a thing on Turkish Shaves where they use fire to quickly kiss the skin and burn the hair off which supposedly produced super close shaves. But I havent ever found anyone in my area that did such a thing. I scoured YouTube, but never found...

Re: PS 90 Accuracy

Have shot my ps90 out to 200 yards with little 30gr vmax bullets - approximate groups: 2” at 100 yards, about 5” at 150 yards and 8” at 200 yards. I used a scope off a bench and would be very interested in what you get as you push it out. http://www.fivesevenforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=4561" onc...

PS 90 Accuracy

I spent some more time behind the PS-90 yesterday and had a chance to see what kinds of groups I could pull 15 yards: 5 shot group- .8 inches http://utahwildlife.net/forum/download/file.php?id=21643&mode=view 25 yards: 10 shot group- 1.2 inches (outer circle is 2" for reference) http://utahwildlife....
