Re: Holy EFF!!! ACR!!?!?!?!!!!

I'm thinking DD more and more. I can buy their barrels for about 180 at the shop, and I'm not going to get anywhere near the accuracy my AR has with the Noveske. I'll have to check and see what I can get FN's barrels (the ones spikes and PSA sell) for, cause if it's a lil less I might even consider ...

Re: Holy EFF!!! ACR!!?!?!?!!!!

Negative ghostrider, no caliber conversions yet. The T1 came into today, so that's on it now (our aimpoint sales guy is always fast, plus he's only in VA). As far as re-barreling goes, I'm going to stick with 5.56. Just going to replace it with a better barrel (probably a Noveske, or a DD barrel if ...

Re: Holy EFF!!! ACR!!?!?!?!!!!

Well mine finally showed up. What interested me off the get go was it's stamped Ilion, NY which makes sense since Bushmaster doesn't own the Windham plant anymore. Other thing was it shipped from Tenn. Thought that was kinda odd. I did file and sand down the safety on the one side, it was annoying m...

Re: Appropriate humor v2.0

I use one of the hydrostatic/auto inflatable life jackets when I'm running around, but really all I'm ever doing is point from fishing spot A to fishing spot B. However it's a 50/50 chance the life jacket would do anything for me with running around the river. Half the time it's less than a foot dee...

Re: FN 9mm

I'd go with the FNX for the trigger. But then again it's apples to oranges with hammer vs. striker. Do you want a first heavy pull then light and short after that, or the same pull every time that's in between for weight and pull?

Found another leather maker, they list it for the Five Seven and the FNP & FNX line of guns.

Here's the link:

Re: Time Magazine cover

There was just another article in the last one one too about how we need to ban them and all that good stuff. I'll occasionally pick one up at bookstore and glance through it quick to see if it's changed at all, and still hasn't. Used to subscribe since I could deal with the left articles as long as...

Re: Might use Five Seven or Mk23 for duty gun

Taseal, You nailed it in your second to last post. The key is accurate enough. 1" groups just standing and punching paper at 25 yards is great, but who is just going to let you stand at 25 yards and not move? I go over this a lot with the one local dept, and there is quite a few officers still in th...

Re: Best 9mm Carry Gun Under $400? Ruger LC9 in my book.

Interesting. I was going to get an LCP this weekend and am on the fence between it the Kel-tec and the Taurus TLP 380. I am really no fan of the 380 and have only shot one a handful of times in my life but can see having one when other guns are just too big. People mentioned accuracy a lot in this ...

Re: Where do you buy the majority of your firearms?

I voted local shop since I work at a gun shop and buy guns at cost or through VIP/Pro forms from manufacturers if they have them. A friend of mine bought a PX4 from Tanners about a year ago (if I remember right). Only about two hours drive from us, and great to deal with there. This was before where...

Re: FNH fit and finish?

The Glock and Sig 550 class of rifles were also designed as combat arms. You can see daylight between the upper and lower of each. The FNP/FNX has the use of a tool, not pretty, just functional. And a lot of original 1911's were sloppy as can be, but they were designed that way. The civilian market ...

CZ's O/U's are nice for the money, but not inexpensive to compared to the lower end stuff out there. For a few hundred dollars there's a ton of O/U imports from Turkey. Check gunbroker and you should find a ton of Charles Daly's laying around for cheap, and the models they were importing from Turkey...

Re: I want a Ruger SR1911

The Taurus is out of Brazil. And if that's the case, why not type up you're own "gift card" for an SR1911, and let him know it's back ordered, and pay for it awhile. And once it's in you can have him, or you, go pick it up. And in the mean time, who knows, maybe you'll find a deal on something a lot...

Re: I want a Ruger SR1911

I don't think the Judge does anything well. About the only design coming out of Taurus and Rossi that has interested me in a long time is the new Rossi revolving rifle in 22lr. Only because it'd be a good small game gun for here in PA since we can't use semi's for whatever reason. It'd be interestin...

Re: The Glock Pistol

Yep butt cramps. It wasn't the only "fix" I did to the G19. I originally switched out the extractor for a lone wolf one, it helped a little. Then polished the extractor plunger, it helped a little more. Then got the new ejector, and it helped a little more. With each fix I ended up with less brass t...

Re: I want a Ruger SR1911

I agree with Irish on this one. We've had a few SR1911's in the shop already, and some were decent, and some not so much. I love the SP101, the GP100, and the old Security Six, but Ruger's centerfire semi's never seemed as well made as their revolvers. For the price range the Ruger is going for, the...

Re: The Glock Pistol

Could have been butt cramps too.

Finally got my new ejector too, and the G19 is no longer sending brass to the face. But that was the only thing I did to it to help with it either. It was a bunch of little things.

Re: FNX 45 Compact

Glock does 10 in the G26, and 17 in the G17. The frame is basically the same size on the FNX/FNS as the 17, and holds 19. I certainly hope it isn't some super chopped short frame. I always wish for just a little more on the frame, but understand the reason behind it.
