Re: CCW

The amount of magazines definitely had very little to do with failures, and everything to do with the purpose of having that much ammo. (which are more reasons than I wish to type, but here is an example) A sustained rate of fire when involved in a multi-person engagement where squad members rely on...

Re: CCW

I see it's pointless to argue. You have your views, I have mine. My only firearms/combat training stems from the Marine Corps, so no, I don't attend the around town self defense classes. I guess because I'm constantly surrounded by the military and deploy to the sandbox regularly (even though I'm no...

Re: CCW

Any gun is 1 malfunction away from being a club... not just a semi-auto. I've seen revolvers jam too. I'd rely more on thorough cleaning and maintenance than a pocket full of magazines. Intimate knowledge of your gun and scheduled inspections can greatly reduce the failure/malfunction scenario. If I...

Re: CCW

If you're firing more than 5 or 6 bullets you're no longer in a PD situation. You're in a shootout. Anyone have any statistics that backup the requirement to have more than a single magazine in a PD situation? 21 shots is a rediculous amount. Most times I'm only carrying my LCP .380 which holds 6+1....

Just trying to figure out when running from somebody and trying to shoot the gun at the same time is needed...

Sounds like somebody couldn't sleep one nite and watched a little too much Mission Impossible. ;)

Re: Hope I didn't break my FNH 5-7 already...

Does anything look out of the ordinary when completely disassembled?? I would take it apart, look for anything that doesn't look right, clean it up and put it back together.

Re: Is my chrony broken

That wait is a long time... but since you don't really have any other options except for reloading yourself, you might as well order some. Otherwise you'll be sitting there 8-10 weeks from now wishing you could find a place to get some self defense rounds. I've come to the realization that unlike mo...

Unless you have a tracked vehicle you're not getting out... Too many trees and steep banks.

Re: what is the use of the 57 pistol ?

I say it's not the ideal place to defend from because of the lack of egress points. Can't get out of the area in a car/truck. I would have to do it on quads or on foot.

No range cards as of yet... I live at the end of a dead-end street. Not the ideal place to defend from, but it does create a decent kill corridor if they follow the road.

Re: what is the use of the 57 pistol ?

Is it odd that I went over my SHTF procedures with my g/f last night? To include what guns for what range/distance, ammo types and their purposes along with range markers in our neighborhood? :)

The FiveseveN is her sidearm of choice when she's out of ammo in the AR's. ;)

I figured the question had been asked before, just not sure in this capacity. (reloaded rounds) Of course if anyone was to answer, I'm glad Grantness did, as I was definitely looking forward to his input.

How do people feel about the SinterFire (sinTOR) round? Anyone here shot it?

What's your favorite anti-personnel/personal defense round?

Specifically for the 5.7x28mm, What is your favorite anti-personnel/personal defense round? Is a 30gr Barnes Varmint grenade gonna cause some nasty damage? I finally loaded some rounds this weekend, (nosler 40gr balistic tip and Speer 45gr HP/Bee's) but was curious what everyone else was doing...
