I'm sorry if my sarcastic post came off a little brash. It's just you see... I'm very much a cynic at heart. Although I just joined this forum, and just posted here, I have to bring up a possibly uncomfortable subject... I have read about all the crapola people have to deal with just to get their equipment together to reload the 5.7 x 28, to the extent that It seems to require a near obsession and bottoml...

Re: Guns on military bases
Yes, there is a degree of uniformity. However, not everyone has the same wallet, keys, or car. There is a limit to the uniform. That isn't the issue that I would see hard to overcome. IF anything. And yes, I put that as a big if. And I say this with the utmost respect (I am military in Canada). The ...

On Friday, September 6 - GONRA forgot to mention to be sure to seek any "axial alignment sweet spot" in your reloading die setup by (if possible) rotating shell holder for minimum (hopefully NO) plastic coating damage. Fired my reloads yesterday. All cycled perfectly, just a little bit of catering on the primers. My accuracy was horrible however! But I was largely distracted by the flame coming out of my muzzle… that really is huge and fun. I was also slightly focused on not blowing up my hand, in fact my very fir...

Yes, and taking it to extremes... if you were to load a boulder in front of the true blue (provided the gun didn't blow up) it would drop REALLY fast coming out of the barrel. And if you could get a 5 gr bb to actually fill the barrel (and remove any atmosphere in front of it) it would fly straight ...

Re: Point of Impact of 5.7x28 Ammo from FiveseveN
Correct me if I'm wrong. But it depends on what distance you're zeroed at. For example. Say you're zeroed at 50 yards. And then you fire at a closer range, say 25 yards. Then yes, what you're saying is true, the heavier, slower bullet will have a higher point of impact compared to the lighter faster...

I would love if 5.7 rounds came in a clip that could feed into a suitable speed loader for the mags. Just like 5.56 NATO. So I'd still say I could use a few clips of ammo.

Gonra, you're hilarious. Love the third person speech. My RCBS dies are actually full length. Which is probably why I'm more around the .3112 mark and not .3110.

Re: Case width issue with Lee dies
Well, the die sizes to .3120 .3125 and SOMETIMES to .3115 if that is what you mean by numbers, as far as .3125 I would say 20% .3120 50% and .3115 30%.... If you get the die to sit JUST RIGHT, that proportion may change, Hornady consistently sizes to .310-.311... I never had a case larger then .311...

In real combat, do you carry bulk ammo, or just loaded mags? When you are re-supplied in battle, do you get bulk ammo, or loaded mags? When you empty a magazine, do you pitch it away, or do you keep it for later re-loading? Magazines are fairly cheap and easier to get than ammo. Just store all you ...
