I had a silencer user describe it on another forum. He has several weapons and silencers so they are not new to him. As you said, the crack is going to be there due to supersonic bullet. He said it made it sound more like a silenced .22 that was also supersonic. Considering the large muzzle blast of...

White Feather was a good man and a great soldier

I remember the day he died, nowhere in the media was anything said. Sadly it kind of shows where the media's priorities are in this country. Here's to one of the greatest soldiers ever to wear a uniform. He is responsible for most of what we know as the sniper profession today. He not only was great...

I thought this was the recent ammo thread, did I miss somthi

I signed up for email alerts from several sources and I got an email from a source that it was in stock. I have all I need for the moment but came here to post that it was in stock as a courtesy to the group. I copied the link strait to the web site before opening this forum and noticed someone had ...

Sounds like a good shooting session. I'm sure the white star line letter refers to an early feeling of the Titanic.

Pulling apart factory loaded ammo and reloading

I am reading a lot about some of the factory ammo being inconsistent with powder charges. If I want a round accurate would I be batter off pulling the bullets of a factory round and reloading before ever firing it? I read a lot on crimping causing high pressures. Is there a way to glue the round in ...

Small Rifle or Pistol Primers best?

I too am wanting to start reloading the 5.7 . I read in the reloading sticky that small rifle or small pistol primers can be used. Is one better than the other? I read the original post said they were going to use pistol primers. I know there is very little room for error on this caliber.

A mans got to know his limitations.

First of all, if you aren't familiar with reloading this is not a good caliber to start with. Every gun out there probably has this disclaimer about reloaded ammo, so that's nothing new. If you do a google search for guns blown up by reloaded ammo you would probably see every gun out there has been ...

Re: bought 5.7 ammo RECENTLY?

Same here, my LGS just got 197 in priced at $29 per box, limit 1 box. I don't want to give away where my honey hole is, but I did want to give some a little hope that it is showing up so don't go paying stupid auction prices. Maybe it is finally starting to ship.

Re: 5.7x28 Ammunition Price List

My LGS has several boxes of 5.7 at $24 per box, limit 2 boxes per day. I have about 1500 rounds now. Don't really want to give away my honey hole, but do want to pass on that there is hope and supplies may be starting to return. They have been limiting boxes of ammo to spread the ammo to everyone, t...

I purchased a 3 die set of redding dies for around $130 and they were back ordered, but shipped within a few weeks. I have not had a chance to use them yet so I can't tell you how well they work. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/930338/redding-3-die-set-57x28mm-fn" onclick="window.open(this.href);re...

Re: Dillon 650 reloading

I have a 650 and would definitely buy one. I purchased a 550 plate and don't even own a 550. I guess if I have to buy a 550 later to go progressive so be it, but I would really rather have a 650 plate. I do understand supply and demand. I don't expect someone to build something if there is not enoug...

Lots of support in Indiana, it is the crossroads of America

Indiana is very central for shipping, low taxes, very shooting friendly, shall issue license to carry a handgun, etc. NFA friendly. Just passed hunting with silencers, so gaining ground there. Any weapon or ammo manufacturers are welcome to take refuge in Indiana. :D

Nobody in their right mind would take the risk

Mistakes can happen when reloading. People make mistakes shooting. The liability in today's environment would prevent anyone in their right mind from loading for another person. Years ago I had a close friend who loaded with me. I invited him to come over and load his own. He was familiar with reloa...

Elite Ammunition has reloading parts in stock

I purchased the case gauge and dillon 550 shell plate a few weeks ago but could not get the RCBS trim plate. The trim plate is now in stock along with some bullets (not loaded ammo). Glad to see a few things back in stock.

Re: bought 5.7 ammo RECENTLY?

At $60 per box, my limit is 0 per day per week. I have no ammo, but I can wait for the prices to drop. I would like to have some ammo and shoot my new toy, but I have plenty of other guns to shoot that I already have ammo for. I don't lack for range guns, ammo, or protection, so I will be darned if ...

Re: bought 5.7 ammo RECENTLY?

Yes it was very disappointing. I purchased my new FiveseveN a few weeks ago and although I do have 2 boxes of the military LE ammo, I don't want to shoot up my entire supply, so the new gun will sit unused. I fired 4 rounds to make sure it at least functions, but I will not shoot any more until I ge...

When the trim plate is in stock I will try my go no go gauge

I have almost everything I need to reload the 5.7. All I need now is a trim pro plate in 5.7. I considered trying to find one close to the right size and mill it out but I think I will wait until EA gets them back in stock.
