A single stage trigger has the same pull weight throughout its entire movement until it breaks. A two-stage has a "takeup" stage where the trigger moves pretty easily until it gets to the second stage. From there, more pressure is required and the travel is usually very short from this point. I pref...

I think the small primers were a product of the shift to "lead free" primers. Some of the lead free loadings are using small primers now. I just sort them out and put them in a separate ziplock. Maybe I will use them someday, but probably not.

Interesting. I'll have to play with mine some this winter and see what happens. Re: 308 AR Style Rifle - POF or SIG?
You used RED?!?!?!?!?!?!? Never use red if you even want to remove something again. The instructions wanted me to use ROCKSETT, which is some aerospace strength superglue stuff. I compromised by using the high-temp red. I figured it would be easier to remove if I ever wanted to. I would just heat t...

Re: 308 AR Style Rifle - POF or SIG?
I got it. A T60 Torx bit took it off. Now I have the Smith Vortex on there. I put it on with high-temp red Loctite, then I decided it wasn't lined up perfectly and tried to loosen it. I bent my wrench. I guess it's close enough :) Itchin' to try it out now. Hey, I need to sight in the BUIS... right?...

Re: 308 AR Style Rifle - POF or SIG?
So I put the Geissele SSA-E trigger in my new Ruger SR-762, and I put a Noveske QD swivel end plate on, and I moved to the Smith Vortex flash hider. How the heck do you get the Ruger flash hider off? It does not have any flats for a wrench. The front has a shape like an AR-15 bolt face inside. Is th...

Picked up the Ruger SR-762 yesterday. My initial impression is very positive. Once I gather all the parts to mount my scope and get it on, I will put in some range time and report back. I also have a Geissele SSA-E trigger and a Smith Vortex flash hider (with lugs for a can) to install on it. Pics w...

They dropped the price to $1,575, but are now sold out. Cool thing is that they give you a 30 day low price guarantee, so I will get a refund of the $52.

Re: 308 AR Style Rifle - POF or SIG?
Well, I did it. I bought the Ruger for $1,627 shipped.
If you guys want one at that price, here is the link:
Ruger SR762 308 16 BLK 20R
I guess I can quit researching this purchase now.
And... it was the cheapest choice, which will make my wife happy.
Thanks for your input.

I have a couple of boxes of that Ranger T +P stuff. I haven't shot any because I didn't know if I can shoot +P through my SIG P220.
It looks like wicked stuff.

308 AR Style Rifle - POF or SIG?
I am in my research phase of purchasing a 308 AR style rifle. I have had an 18" barrelled SIG 716 Precision on pre-order for well over a year (might even be two years) and that has obviously not panned out. SIG is still not shipping those. I have been looking at 16" barrelled rifles now. I like the ...

Another brass question 45 ACP this time
You guys talked me out of nickel plated cases for the 9mm. I bought un-plated. Now I am going to buy 1,000 45 ACP cases from Starline. They make two versions - regular and "+P." Starline describes the +P version as follows: The 45 Auto+P is a strengthened version of the 45 Auto with the same externa...

I want to buy some Starline brass for reloading in 9mm and 45 Auto. The only 9mm I can find is nickel plated.
What is preferable and why?
Thanks in advance for bringing a reloading "newbie" up to speed on this.

Well if this don't sound like lighting the fuse on a keg of powder, I don't know what does. I hope it does not pass. If it does, things could get real ugly. If I were a law enforcement officer there, I would refuse an unlawful order.

I agree that there should be a minimally intrusive background check, but the proposed "Universal" background checks are a back door registration and limit or prevent face to face sales and transfers to family members. I don't like it.
