Not the best video, as I took it with my cell phone camera. Graininess is from the camera, not the PVS-14. The lights that you see on the house on the hill (left) aren't even visible with the naked eye. The lights to the right (streetlights) bloom quite a bit. Pretty good cloud cover last night so i...

Make the brass from 5.56 brass if you've got any. It's stupid easy. Buy a Lee hand trimming set for 5.56, cut off the end, trim past the shoulder using a drill and the shell holder, resize, trim with 300BLK trimmer to final size. BOOM! HEADSHOT! Possibly. Only mentioned it as our heavy hovercraft can only climb about a 13% grade under load. Now maybe smaller payloads on smaller vehicles could work, but at this point, it just doesn't have the thrust to weight ratio required for some seriously hilly areas.

This thing is fraking awesome!!! Was clanging a 12" steel plate at 200 yards and tearing up 3x5 cards at 20 for a couple of hours last Saturday. No real noticeable recoil difference from a standard AR, but with twice the punch. It's super loud though when the muzzle is a whopping 14" from your heari...

Can it be used in a dry media tumbler? (I have a Lyman Turbo 1200 Pro). It'd probably be more difficult due to the shape of the bowl, but it's able to hold water.)

Sorry, my sarcasm was a bit rich today. Safeties are great, but they're not there to keep you completely safe, they're just an added layer for when "stupid" hits. Hmmm... I always thought that if you followed the four safety rules, that wouldn't be a problem. In addition to that, once you retrieve a gun, verify it's status. If you're retrieving the gun because you need to use it, it will simply be in the fire position when you try to swipe the safety off and ...

s64woody, I roll my own Kydex holster. The nice thing about Kydex is that you can "unmold" it with some directly applied heat. If your concern about the safety is because it might press too hard on it while it is holstered, you can either create a "channel" for the safety with some wood whittling wo...

Yeah I load all my factory mags for a few weeks at a time then unload them every 4 days or so for a bit, to give them a rest. Did you read the thread? Re: Pre-load magazines?
Static spring wear is a myth. With modern springs a la 1970's or so, the only thing that wears a spring is them being cycled (compressed-decompressed) or over extension (stretching) and over compressing (trying to load too many). The better magazine springs are nice to have, but honestly I think of ...

Both of my DSA built FAL's run great. I did have to send the Para back to them for repairs once though. the bolt face failed at the 200 round mark. Improper heat treatment was the cause. Aside from the 7.62x51 losing a lot of poop out of a barrel, that is a sexy gun. I've got an 18" and a 16" FAL and they are a whole lot of fun to shoot. Not sure what the barrel length is on the SCAR sbr, but either way, I'd stick with the 13" FAL at a minimum (vs.11"). The FAL runs better with more...

Crazy muzzle flash amounts to crappy ballistics(unburned powder). A barrel shorter than 16" with a .308 leaves a lot on the table for that round. Same reason they don't make/sell a lot of FAL's that short. They'd be fun to shoot, but it really takes away from what the round is capable of. If it's ju...
