Re: Reloading for CMMG Banshee short variant

You coating should not start coming off in large amounts until you get to about 5x.

Make sure you clean the brass right, also polishing lightly your chamber and your sizing dies goes a long way to protecting the coating.

Re: Reloading for CMMG Banshee short variant

You have to have the coating end of story and the Banshee is designed to work with and need it.

Also annealing really does not help because the primer pocket give out. Before you ask YES even with sub sonic loads the primer gets beat up pretty hard with the 5.7.

No clue, if you can score an older Trim Pro EA makes a plate. The new Trim Pro universal does NOT work well with the 5.7

Re: Which die set is best?

Lee does not make a 5.7 crimp die. In the plast folks have modified thier .223 to work with 5.7 CH4D and Hornady make the best 5.7 dies. RCBS and Redding {{{ specifically}}} 5.7 dies suck, dig deep into the reloading section adn you will see issues going back a decade. I am NOT saying ALL RCBS dies ...

Keep shooting what you have been shooting. That letter is a suggestion and won't stand up from a letter from an attorney.

SS198 is FN's manufactures ammo ro the pistol when used by LEO.

Re: Ruger 57

Not sure, AE is pure junk. It might be an chamber issue. I have seen some of the early Rugers with chambers a bit on the tight side. Also make sure to clean you chamber with Carb Cleaner to remove lacquer biuld up. NO bore cleaner, degreaser, or CLP will have any effect on removing the lacquer. This...

Re: Holster sources for FsN

EA's Kydex works perfectly with the DT CAOS holster. I carry every day with this combo.

I don't carry with a red dot installed. I do how ever prefer the more aggressive slide serrations.

Re: Pressure signs

Pretty normal, the 5.7 is hell on primers. You can't use ordinary signs. You much better off looking inside the case. You can see these gold rings once you know wht you are looking for. These cases have been cut to make it easier to show what to look for. https://i.imgur.com/4ZVM24A.jpg https://i.im...

Re: Just bought a new new Five Seven

Yes or better still just pull back on the locked back slide and let go. I find this way of doing works best with all my firearms. This way I don't have to hunt for the slide stop lever since their location ans sizes can vary.

Re: Reloading for CMMG Banshee short variant

The biggest thing is NOT tumbling. 20 minutes in a luke warm water with 1 part simple green to 5 parts water. Hand agitate ever 5 minutes. Some folks like to deprime and resize separately. This works nicely since you can wash the brass after to not only remove combustion residue, you can clean all t...
