Nice work Toaster. I have been loading 5.7 for about a year now, and have worked up some loads similar to yours. Your pics give me some ideas for my own QC that I will add to my practice. FWIW, I use a chrono to test my loads, but based on the data in this website, virtually all of the loads have co...

I spent a lot more than $60 on every size rail I could find that looked close. No dice. I now have a box of various rails for AR builds, and I dropped the $60 on FN proprietary rails and they work great.

I tend to agree with you. I would lean toward the 198. However, I don't know where you buy your ammo, but I get 197 from PSA for $17.99 a box, and $31.99 is the cheapest I have ever found 198.

Pumbo, Nice to read about your experience. I just started loading the 5.7 at the beginning of this year, but I have succumbed to the addiction and have gone through a lot of rounds. Spiderco, that makes no sense to me that the chrono results are relatively consistent, with inconsistent recoil. My amateur opinion is that you are pushing a 52 grain bullet pretty hard. I'm going to have to rework my load for the 35gr. Hornady. Is it a much longer bullet, and I can't go any longer on the OAL or they won't fit in the mag. It is going to compress the space and work up more pressure. With the Varmint extreme bullets, the OAL will obviously be much shorter.

Re: PS90 cleaning frequency?
I'm not sure it needs it, but it is so easy to run a bore snake through it and wipe down the bolt, that I do it every time I shoot it.

I was at a presentation by Elon Musk's team that is building the new battery gigafactory in Northern Nevada. Pretty impressive stuff that I could talk about for a while, but I will try and stay on topic here. He is spending $5 billion to manufacture the Panasonic 18650 cell, and use it to make large...

I have the original white ring sight. I would consider only fair, until the REM T3 is added, then it becomes awesome. I have seen them for sale at $400. That shocks me. They may be decent, but I know I could do better for $400.

I went skydiving once, back in the days before tandem jumps. They put me through about 4 hours of training on the ground. Last week I picked up Hemingway's "A Farewell to Arms". Read it cover to cover on Sunday. Felt like I was back in college and a book report was due in the morning. For decades, Ferrari built $100,000 cars, then watched them hit the resale auction for $1,000,000 a couple years later. Then they figured it out and started selling them for $1,000,000+. It seems to be working. Not that I hope that is the future of EA ammo. When Jay is able to make the supply curve ...

Double J, you are addressing separate issues. First, how deadly is the round? True, it may not have as much FBI data as other calibers, but it looks like there are enough instances to qualify it as deadly enough. Second, reliability. It doesn't matter how deadly a round is, if you are not confident ...

I'd think a USG would be $1,000 at best. I can say that pretty honestly since I have a LNIB USG that has been posted on this site for months for $1,000 and have received no interest. Why would a forum member here pay $1,200?

Blue has also sanded, dremeled and generally fitted the grip of his gun to his hand. My IOM has an almost smooth, dimpled grip that I have come to love. If I were to shoot my USG much, I would have to sand down the grip. I bought a Rock Island 10mm 1911 with VZ grips. Unbearable at first, but a litt...

One of the things I love about my Five Seven is the low maintenance. I pull the barrel out and with a q-tip and carb cleaner, make sure there is no lacquer in the cham...

You really need to determine what you want out of it first. I have seen the ring sight from a G2 alone go for $400, even though you could buy something similar for less.
