USG/MKII compatibility
Howdy. Long time no see.
Can a USG frame accept a MKII slide, and can a MKII slide accept a USG barrel? I want a MKII slide with front serrations and the new sights but I don't want to buy a whole new pistol (and I like the grey controls).
Much appreciated.

Do you know how many rounds the previous owner fired, and how many you have fired? I haven't shot my FsN for a while, so you gents with more rounds down range, any chance the lacquer build-up in the chamber would be enough to keep rounds from extracting?

I wore my FsN in a Crossbreed supertuck for years. Not only did the clips tear my pants, but holes developed where the exposed accessory rail protruded. Coconut milk, blue! I don't like it in my cereal but it's a dang good replacement for water in the NutriBullet. SD rounds, a wise man once told me to just throw rocks. If you're going to load your own, I'd say go with a lightweight open tip round. Maybe overpay for some 192/195 and pull the bullets.

Just estimating, Blue. Gallery of Guns is pricing it at $830. (Non available) Another large bear on my porch last week. Feeling under-gunned with the G17. :( You should just feed it until it becomes your friend. Then you don't have to shoot it, AND you have a bear friend. That's not just the tequil...

Re: Lehigh Defense "Controlled Chaos"
Are they made to fragment, or tumble and yaw like the 28gr open tip rounds? Second question, what twist would it take to stabilize a 45gr round out of a .223/5.56? My impression was that 1:7 was better for 62+ and 1:9 was <55, with 1:8 falling somewhere in between. Do they make other twist rates, at...

No, I haven't gotten one yet. Maybe when someone else buys one, they can post their review and pics in here? ;) This afternoon I was set on getting myself an FNS 9. Then I thought about the new compact. If I'm reading this right there is only a .4" barrel difference (3.6 vs 4.0). The compact comes w...

I'd say $220-260 is fair on the ammunition, but I personally wouldn't pay over $1250 for the pistol. I don't know what the "street" price of it is anymore. I got mine for $950-ish.

I'm a big fan of Talon grips http://talongungrips.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It comes in a nice grippy rubber, or a classic skateboard type grip that I haven't tried. Bought a set for my XDS and my FsN.
You can buy just a sheet of the tape and add it how/where you want.

Newer sigs are also clunky with slides that are much too high. We just picked a Sig P320 (the new striker-fired P250) and the big complaint I keep finding is that the barrel is too high for a striker-fired weapon. It did feel a little 'tall' in my hand but I wouldn't call it clunky. It feels real, ...

The resistance on an empty magazine is normal. It shouldn't drop easily on an empty magazine. Otherwise you'll notice the slide doesn't lock back when you run dry. Do it slow and steady. 1) Push the slide back so maybe 1/3-1/2 inch of barrel is exposed. 2) Push the takedown lever back half way (it should stick) while holding the slide back still 3) Push and hold the takedown lever all the way back and hold it while riding the slide forward. After this the slid...

Can't speak to the interchangeability but I will say that adjustable sights are a bit more useful on the FsN than some other handguns, given the difference in bullet weight and charge across the spectrum of available rounds. You'll have a pretty big change in POI between 195, 197, S4, etc. I underst...
