Re: Bad day at the gun show
I was at the Indy 1500 gun show last weekend. Apparently the guy that shot himself was reloading his pistol while walking to his car. I just can't fathom the stupidity. Responsible gun owners really need idiots like this right now. There is an ND at virtually every Indy 1500. Last year a dealer shot...

Here is another drill. In a controlled environment (range), using snap cap ammo, with someone timing you draw and fire your weapon with a dummy round chambered. Do this 10 times. We did an interesting drill in a class that I took part in last year. The instructor would stand behind the shooter. The instructor would then tap the shooter on the shoulder, turn and run. The shooter would draw his pistol, and shoot from the hip. The object for the shooter was to hit a paper plate...

Re: Hornady Lock and Load AP review
The powder cop is a very light gravity fed device. If it does compress the powder, I would say the effect would be very minimal. By the way, I hope you are not planning on using this for 5.7 x 28...there are issues that you will have to deal with.

Re: Hornady Lock and Load AP review
The primer system issue can be dealt with for the most part with a small paintbrush. You can just brush most of the powder out. When the powder begins to accumulate in the primer seater plug, the plug must be removed, and cleaned thoroughly. The symptom here is that the primer shuttle hangs up on th...

I do not think I would be storing ammo in the same container with documents. I don't know what the flash point of ammo is, but if the inside temperature gets to that point, kiss the contents goodbye. Also keep in mind that any penetration to the outside skin of a fire rated container voids the fire ...
Re: Gun Vault
Ok, lets start with "fireproof". There is no such thing as a fireproof safe. Fire rated safes are "fire resistant". Fire resistant safes are rated in hours as to fire resistance. The rating is based on how long the container can be subjected to an outside temperature of 1700 degrees Fahrenheit with ...

It will go WAY beyond what you saw in the news clip. 1. Each firearm will have to be registered. There will be a HEFTY fee for registering a firearm. Each firearm registration will require a notarized application which will have to be submitted in person to the city Clerks office. 2. One million dol...

I have used nothing but Hornady dies for all calibers that I load. I have been quite pleased with the 5.7 x 28 dies. That being said, I have ordered a set of Lee does for 223 because my Hornady sizing die does not seem to work and play well with once fired Lake City brass. That story will be continu...

Resizing Lake City once fired 223
Has anyone had experience with Lake City once fired 223. I am having an issue with this brass and my Hornady sizing die. The cases appear to be bulged at the bottom, and get stuck in the die even when properly lubricated. Suggestions???
