10/22 with bullpup, got problems

Post by fzr confused » 18 Sep 2008, 08:13

does anyone else on here have the muzzlelite bullpup stock on a ruger 10/22? i got mine in the mail the other day and finally installed it. it seems the 10/22 isnt 100% centered in the stock now so when you cock it and tried to fire it (dry fire) it will not fire. you either have to physically bang on it or try to push the gun to the side. i have taken it apart at least 10 times and tried everything i could to center it and get it to work. i can get it to dry fire it maybe 5-10 times and then it will do the same thing. anyone else run into this problem?

I had one for a marlin camp carbine. It fit and fired ok but I got sick of it and ended up throwing it away.

I'd send it back for exchange (or refund) rather than messing with it.

As much as I like the benefits of bullpup designs, I've avoided the muzzlelite stocks like the plague.

I had one for my mini-14. It never worked. I installed and uninstalled it four time. Finally I took to a gun smith, he couldn't get to work all the time only a couple. I sent it back and got my money back.

Maybe you might want to go a different way with your 10/22. :D

The pictures are fuzzy because the camera couldn't handle that level of awesomeness.

These guys have some REALLY nice bullpup conversions or the 10/22...but you'd have to be serious 10/22 enthusiast to dish out for one. http://www.ironwooddesigns.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ooh-ooh, Mr. Kotter, Mr. Kotter!! Why dontcha get the PS90 paintball gun and gut it, shove that 10/22 in it and then you'll have your bullpup designed stock AND your PS90 look all in one!?
They have the 'how to' videos on YouTube.

But we might remind you of the hogs that were killed with the 5.7 round and posted in the old forum.

My brother in law got a 10-22 accessory that is an aluminum shell that wraps around the receiver and allows you to add an AR15 stock and free floating forend. The thing is rock solid and BAD ASS.

I wish I could remember the name. It sounds like it would be perfect for the style of gun you're going for.

I would return it! I was only able to fire 1 40rnd mag out of my mini 14 and 20 out of the second and the bullpup stock stopped firing. just cause of one screw that does not operate the mini 14 fell out. I would keep the weapon in its original wood stock. that what im doing with my 14 when i get home.

The 10/22 is pretty small and light to begin with. Are bullpups really necessary?

Now for really cool factor get the MG-42 dress up kit with a couple of the quality 50 rd drums. You know the ones that Norrell or TEK modified so they run flawlessly and dont forget a cheap folding bipodImage

I got the MGW 50 round teardrop mag. Its was smaller than the drums. I liked it until I broke it. You see, you have to open it up and wind up the belt before loading. Well, if you wind it up and accidentally release it...theres a good chance you can screw up the springs. Now its more like a 35 round mag.

Thanks Thorfinn. I thought that was pretty darn cool till I read and realized, it didn't come with the butt stock, free float forearm tube or the hand grip. I started to think...for $225, it would cost almost as much as a real AR to make a .22 caliber look alike!

ive tried 3 of the 50rd drums on my 10/22. not a single one would chamber a round correctly. the first drum i took apart bc the seller told me to, yeah, that spring sliced my arm/hand pretty good lol.
