2015 SHOT show

Post by NLVMike » 16 Jan 2015, 22:30

I am going to stop by the SHOT show next week. Turning green already just thinking about all the stuff I will see that I can't have or can't afford. Anything specific I should look for? I know everyone will have a tacticool tweak to their AR platform, including FN. Anything else new expected?

On facebook was a video of some upcoming products, one shot had new slides and barrels for FNS / FNX pistols with threaded barrels. I am wondering if they are coming out with threaded barrels for FNS that would make me happy if the price was right. I have and Octane fde in jail right now.

It seems anymore everyone releases products as soon as they are conceived, especially with facebook being the norm now. There isn't much "wonder" to the show as there was 5 or 10 years ago. I always like to see photos of the show either way.

Like Magpul has been spiting out You Tube videos for several days straight.

Magpul has great products, but it seems they are struggling to stay the center of attention.

The new Glock mags they will be releasing in April will help fix that issue.

At $15.95 MSRP Glock now has competition in the mag market and hopefully force Glock to lower their prices.

Magpul has a pretty high bar to get over when it comes to Glock mags. If they aren't metal lined, I'm not sure how well they'll function when compared to the current generation of G-17 mags.

Being Magpul I have no doubt they will be better. It's what they do.

I don't give any company that sort of pass, Jay. They may have some good products, but there's a good reason why Glock went to a FML magazine. For me, I'll stick with OEM mags for my Glocks until these have a very long and very proven track record.

I don't give any company "A pass" but based upon their body of work and their justly deserved reputation the odds of these mags being crap are really long.

Too overwhelming to describe. The industry is doing well. I didn't even make it to the FN booth, yet. Rock Island must have had close to 100 models on display, including a new 22mag 1911, several 6" 1911's, including a very cool 10mm, and Glock uppers to make a Glock into a 22TCM. Scads of very cool stuff if you have the energy to get through that crowd. I may make it back tomorrow, but not without a map of exactly what I want to see.

Mike; if I enjoyed pistols, I would check out

1. Arsenal Strike One
2. Kahr competition longslide models
3. Caracal's new models
4. CZC's new match pistol

to name a few. If I were there...
