Any revolver fans here? I don't know why but I have this urge to get a Colt .45 SAA, or maybe a Python. They are both excessively pricey, but seem to hold their value. I've found that Colt made a lot of "special" SAA's, like state centennial editions. They sit unfired in some safe for 40 years, then sell for the price of a standard SAA. I would likely buy one and shoot the heck out of it. Grrr. Talk me out of this.

I'm not a revolver fan, nor do I own one. I have, fired many a wheelgun, including cowboy actions and I will own one in the future. As far as being a fan, the only FACTORY guns I truly think are worth being a fan for is the FsN and CZ, because of their capabilities and what they are.

No matter what I favor, as with the Glock (which isn't my favourite gun by far), I think everyone should be balanced and own a revolver (and Glock, AR, .22 LR), no matter if they particularly like the platform. I think it is a good idea to be familiar with different kinds of firearms and how they operate.

When I look at revolvers, I look at .22 and .460. I don't think anything else is worth owning. If I'm to own something that has a small "magazine", such as the revolver, it'd better be a one-shot wonder, high-velocity and high-grain caliber. Or a .22 LR, because I have yet to get one.

I actually am looking for an H&R Sportsman .22 LR revolver, right now. If you want to get a revolver, please get it in at LEAST either 10mm or .454.

I got mine in .357 magnum - there is nothing wrong with that caliber.

I've got an itch lots of itches, but the most recent one is for a Ruger LCR in .357. Would be suuuuuuhweet. Blue, tell the gents over at CZ to make me a P-07 Duty in .45ACP. I will throw my money at them for it. :laugh:

Seriously, I have had those same, um... urges, but every time I see a wheel gun that I might like... my ADD kicks in and I buy a semi-auto, or a safe, or a TV...

For the record, I have a number of revolvers. Blue, my Ruger single-six .22 is one of my favorite guns. I can let my kids shoot it with a box of 50 rounds for an hour. Cheap, and they feel like John Wayne. I actually have a bit of a .22 addiction, with at least a dozens weapons for that round.

Pain, I have a Ruger LCR in .38 special. It is a pretty cool carry weapon, but it sucks as a range gun. Between the long, heavy double action trigger and the hand ripping recoil, it is just not fun to shoot. At more than 15 feet, the target usually comes back clean. My S&W model 19 in .357 mag is much more fun to shoot, just harder to carry. I also have the S&W 29 Dirty Harry gun in .44 mag. It's not really all that fun to carry or shoot, but it is a must have.

Ohhhhh mannnn! Those are super awesome and beaaaauuuutiful! They are definitely an awesome gun to own, just as the WW 1911 Colts, are. Even though I don't collect, those two historical guns are two that I would really appreciate.

The 1911's go for 2500$+, so I think your wheelgun choice is a good place to start

I love my Ruger Alaskan in 454 Casull.

I was going to pick up a LCR in 357, but then I shot one that my buddy has as a BUG. It is unshootbale with 357 in it. It nearly leaps from your grip when shooting and karate kicks you right in the wrist with the force of Master Splinter. Ugh.

While my S&W 610 10mm Hunter revolver is my favorite I also have a strong fondness for Colt Agent and Detective 38spl snubs.

Super easy to carry and stash for the wife. Although I have speed loaders for them due to the number we have stashed around the house their limited capacity will not be an issue since I plan on dropping it and grabbing another already loaded one.

My Sheriff carried a .357 wheel gun the entire time he was a cop. His thoughts were 'they never jam'.
The last time we qualified, my buddy ran the course with two of his cowboy action .45's.
Wheel guns are a blast and the only one I currently own is a beat up old .22LR that I THINK is a Ruger...the lettering is rubbed off, but it sure looks like one. The front sight blade was removed years ago, supposedly for quick draw, but it's a good little snake gun and the kids sure enjoy shooting it.
I want to get the GSG 1911 .22LR like my father in law has. SMOOTH as silk and feels good when you're shooting it. Plus you can shoot all day long for less than $20! LOL!!

My first gun was a wheel gun. A Colt Trooper MKIII with the 8" barrel. I paid $200.00 which included all of the paperwork, box, and a brand new leather holster. My favorites now are the S&W M&P in .357 that I carry at the farm in a front pocket holster and the S&W 2 1/2" .44 magnum "Beartracks" that I carry when we go hiking in the mountains. Hitting the target, rapid fire, with the 300 gr. Hornday is just plain fun!

My sister just got an old Mod 36 snubbie in 38 special that my Grandfather owned. Great gun. Went and shot it over the holidays. Her father in law decided to give one of his Mod 19s to my brother in law. Also great gun. Shot 357 very well, even for snub nose as well.

Really do like wheelguns. Something elegant about em.

Not that I don't appreciate the semiautos out there as well.

They're making one in either .40 or .45. I don't remember which.

Psh, wheelguns jam ALL THE TIME. And once they do, you can't just "fix" the problem. It's out for the count. But if you service them (expensive) they won't. Don't want to get into the mfg. vs mfg. argument... S&W vs Taurus... etc.

I wanted to get a H&R Sportsman with vented rib, break-barrel .22LR revolver. It'd be my first revolver and first .22. But the good ones go for $500-600

GSG is not bad. My friend, nic00taylor on youtube makes an extended basepad and loader for it.

I still haven't found a good, light pack .22 gun, rifle or pistol. The only light/low-profile option would be VERY expensive. About $1000. Ruger with a TacSol upper to make it much lighter, then I would have to upgrade it to suppressed, since it is already threaded. The Ruger SR22 would have worked, but the ergos dont work for me. I don't like the new Ruger Mk's with the shiney uppers, either. Buckmarks with TacSol uppers also work, but very expensive. Wouldn't mind, though. They are very accurate with the TacSols and light. Problem is that they are too $$$.

This one is kind of fun. I use it every year as part of my halloween costume. It's so over-the-top that I can walk around the church halloween party with it, and they all assume it isn't real. The rig is almost the best part, tied around the leg and all. 1873 Cattleman (Uberti, not Colt) with a brass frame, 7 1/2 inch barrell, 44mag and color case hardened. Least accurate handgun I own, but still fun. Yes, it is hanging from the four poster bed frame. Part of the image, ya know.

For actual range time, I prefer this one.



I chaired a Boy Scout fundraiser and they gave me this as a memento. Model 29-10. Great shooter.

That almost looks like my hunting gun. I always carry a backup to the rifle when I hunt, usually it's the super blackhawk. I love that thing :lmao:

4.5 barrel perfect for camping. Strong, compact not a lot of moving parts. Don't even need a holster.

Gonna pick up some Carbon 357 Magnum 80gr Glaser for the stub nose.
Velocity: 1600fps with a 4 inch barrel. Maybe then I'll hit the side of the barn.

We had a S&W featherlite .357 Magnum at the SO. Nobody wanted to carry it because the recoil was too much. Not enough grip there to really hold the dadgummed thing.

The first sidearm issued to me in the Navy was a S&W revolver. The second one issued to me was a Colt 1911. Thus, from the beginning of my time with handguns, I have learned to enjoy and appreciate ownership of these two fine types of firearms.

I have wanted to KNOW how to properly handle and become more than just adequate shooting various types of weapons. Thus, over the years I have collected many different types, makes, styles and calibers of handguns. Some were expensive, others modestly priced. I have even commissioned master smiths to build me a gun containing the components I desired.

Revolvers continue to be of value to me. Some have been visually beautiful as well as reliable and accurate. I no longer carry a revolver nor do I carry a 1911. In recent times, I have come to appreciate FNH products and alternate carrying a FNS-40 with a FNX-40.

Nevertheless, anyone who enjoys handgun ownership is denying him/herself great pleasure by not owning a revolver.
