Anyone here tried out the GSG5?

I would like to check one out. Always liked the MP5 style and then to have something similar and so cheep too.

I have been kicking the idea around of getting one, but I have a ton of .22lr rifles already.

Got one, and love it.
It works great after about 300 or so rounds I have had a few light hits no fires. Course taht was a 550 bulk pack.
Its a bit of a pain to take a part in only that the MP5 has push pins to take it apart. On the GSG5 those pins are screws, not really to much of a pain but if the MP5 can work with pins I just wish the GSG5 could have had the pins as well.
I really like mine, I shoot it more often then my other plinkers.
Friends that see it get all exctied to shoot it cuz is not as loud and dosent kick like and real MP5.
I know the MP5 dosent really kick but a few friends that I take shooting everynow and then aren't that tuff. :laugh:

hell, you could get a ruger 10/22 with one of those tasco stocks and stick a MWG 50 round mag on there....would function pretty much the same (but with more rounds).

The GSG-5 will be one of my next gun purchases. I love my 10/22, but this little baby is pretty sweet. My uncle has one, and I loved it. Ammo price is cheap, and it is a lot of fun to go shoot the varmints with.

Have two (one pistol one rifle) I plan on SBR the pistol and have already made a custom adapter for FH and silencer. With the rifle, I was lucky to get one of the earlier models with the front dust cover. Bought one of the mp5 cocking tube lasers, CA retractble stock, cheap utg milldot 4x scope and mount, looking for a good rail system. But it shoots like a dream with the scope and is just darn fun.

I really like the look of the GSG5. I might end up getting the pistol version and getting an SBR stamp down the line.

Does it come with a weaver rail?

those things are really cool until u realize they are .22lrs. Seems kind of like playing with airsoft to me. In terms of functionality there is not much difference except in cosmetics. It just seems like a lot of dough to dish out for a .22lr that isnt ultra accurate.

Seems kind of like playing with airsoft to me. In terms of functionality there is not much difference except in cosmetics.

Getting shot with an airsoft gun probably hurts, getting shot with a .22 might make a guy cry for his momma. hehe

I finally got one and with a GSG5 collapsible stock. Which does not block the ejection port when collapsed. :monkey: :monkey:

I have one of these (GSG-5 rifle) that has an aluminum tri-rail forearm that I bought & modified to a solid fit. Now that the weight is even and feels right (read less plastic), it is awesome and it is my favorite plinker - dead on accurate and never hangs up. I love these firearms.

is changing the windage and elevation a Bitc*?
I know the diopter sights are a pain pliers or a special tool is needed to adjust the sights.

The sights on the rifle are simple to adjust...now my C-More railway, well, that's another story.

I love my GSG. Very reliable and have yet to experience any problems. I have put approx. 1500 rds through it both HV and sub-sonic and all has cycled the gun. Surprisingly, I prefer the sub-sonic due to the decreased sound. I would recommend this as an addition to anyones collection.
