Browning Mark 3 question

Post by 57js » 13 Jul 2012, 16:52

I just picked up a Hi Power Mark 3, and I can't get it reassembled. I had no problem taking it apart so I could clean it. I got the spring and barrel on without a problem. I put the slide on, pull it all the way back with the safety to secure it where I put the retaining pin in. The pin goes in, and it goes through to the other side but it doesn't lock in.

No matter how much pressure I use, I can't push the pin in any more so it locks in. When I shift the slide a bit, the pin will fall out.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you.

There's a ton of videos on YouTube for this issue. You probably have already answered this question though...

Virginian, thanks for the video, but his post is titled: "BROWNING MK3" and in the thread, he's talking about a Hi-Power.
Different weapon, I believe.
57js, are you supposed to align the slide with the detent to put the pin back like you do when you removed it in order for the pin to hold?

It does have to re-align, and the slide wasn't far enough back for the pin to go through. I got it all back together again.

Glad you got it, buddy. I know they can sometimes be frustrating.
