Vltor SCAR CASV handguards ARE LIVE

Post by fooschnickens » 02 May 2012, 18:26

Was watching Travis Haley's latest video on his Thorntail light mounts and noticed that his SCAR had the CASV handguard system mounted to it. At first I thought he was given one to put through its paces but after a quick check on Vltor's site I found it listed in their store for $249.95 which pretty much puts it in-line with their mid-length AR CASV systems price-wise.

They're expecting them to start shipping mid May which should give me enough time to pay rent and order one :D

All I gotta say is it's about frakin' time.

Haha he always says the same thing to me, but then quickly sides with me when I start talking about how it would improve my grip.

I really want one. Really bad.

It looks really good.

I would suggest that they provide screws for every threaded port (probably not going to happen); once sand gets in there, it's going to really be a circus to install rails without a Q-tip to get it out. The fine sand here that is carried by 25 mph winds spares no one.

I have checked out the FN foregrip; I like it. However, as Taylor pointed out to me, this is lighter as it does not have permanent rails built-in.

Mike, I took pictures of every competitor that shot the long distance rifle stage with a SCAR. I got a lot of information; especially from the SCAR shooters on Team FNHUSA. I'll post some pictures in a sec.

You could probably get some little plastic thread protectors to stick in the unused rail holes.

very good idea.

They need to make some and call them Tactical _______. It would sell for high prices, then.

You could probably raid the parts bins at Ikea and find what you need. They have all kindsa little plugs laying around.
