FS2000 Magazines

Post by 57js » 30 Apr 2012, 08:47

What are good magazines to use in the FS2000? FN recommends metal magazines so my polymer ones will have to stay with my AR.

I know the P mags have issues in SCARs and need some material removed around the back of the mag.

I thought P-mags worked with the FS2000.

I mostly use D&H mags but I have others. The FNH mag it came with also works fine. I have some more but I think I need to replace the spring on them. They aren't even working right in the AR :ponder:

I have some Magpuls for my AR15, but saw a FAQ here FN doesn't recommend polymer magazines for the FS2000. Time to find some good metal magazines. FN's mags are probably going to be more expensive than third party products.

Metal mags work best in the FS2k because of the aforementioned seals. Polymer mags have slightly larger outer dimensions which make them harder to get in and out.

After doing some research, I think that is the way I will go. I found FN SCAR 5.56 mags for $29 online. I gather the FS2000 mags are the same as the SCAR mags since those are the only 5.56 FN mags I see for sale.

Not all have a steel bottom. The factory 10 round mags have polymer. :ponder:

D&H mags are mostly what I have, I have P-Mags, but prefer the aluminum mags, they are cheap and work well.
