FS2000?

I am thinking of getting a FS2000 in the next few weeks to go along with my AR15 and AR57. I looked through the search function, and didn't see anything recent on this particular rifle other then about cleaning it. I never fired a bullpup rifle before so I was wondering how is it to shoot, and how reliable is the FS2000?

My opinion of mine hasn't changed
Pretty reliable but when it double feeds, it can be a pain. The weird thing is that those have only happened to me twice (many many rounds down range) but it happens more to other people who shoot my gun. :ponder: I think its because I don't baby the charging handle, just release & let it slam forward - like you're supposed to. (Always lock open before inserting new mag, otherwise it is likely to jam).
Mags do not drop free, you have to pull them out.
Long, stubborn trigger but the nu-trigger thing (ebay, ~$27) helps. It doesn't lessen the pull but makes it smoother. If you're trying for precision shots, the long trigger pull can have adverse effects, depending on the range & your shooting style.

That said, I still like mine. Love how all the shells are in one spot & I don't have to chase them down :laugh:

Love them and if it wasn't for all the AR NIB stuff I have I would go with one of them instead of an AR for my next build.

Thanks for your opinions. It is a toss up between the PS90 and the FS2000. I saw that Tanner's had a special a few months ago on the FS2000 which was in my budget, but don't think it is still going on. PS90 will be cheaper though you really can't compare the two since they are completely different. Decisions, decisions.

The ONLY thing I didn't like about mine was the trigger. But then, it IS a bullpup, so...
You have to get used to that long pull and solid trigger. For short distance jobs and CQB, it is a WONDERFUL weapon. I'm not the greatest distance shooter anyway, but it would not have been my first choice because the trigger was pulling me off target.
Other than that, and the fact you have to remove the mags rather than dump them, I had no complaints.

You could always pull the gaskets in the magwell to make them drop free.

Which opens it up for dust & debris.

The way it releases, I'm not even sure drop free would be beneficial. I'd have to see it in action. I do think it would be nice if it pulled a little easier though.

I got on the bullpup train and bought an fs2000 and a ps90. I don't remember the last time I shot either one of them. I should probably give them another chance. The only bullpup I shoot much at all now is my RFB.

I spend most of my time shooting my scar17 and my ar's, mainly because it's easier and more comfortable.

I've even considered selling my ps90 and 5.7 pistol just because they don't get any use, but I really doubt I will.

I went ahead with the FS2000, and should get it in the next week or two. The PS90 will wait.

I will have a 5.56 suppressor by the end of the year for an AR, but I am interested in also using it on the FS2000. Is it possible to use the suppressor on the FS2000 easily or will I need to do quite a bit of work on the FS2000 for the suppressor to work?

IIRC, the threads on the FS2000 are not the same as an AR. I might be wrong though. Other than that, it will be great for it.

Assuming that the above is true, I would imagine that the break is pinned, and if so, you could take it to a gunsmith to have it removed and the barrel threaded. The one I use charges around $100 to thread a barrel.

After that you can use any QD flash hider/suppressor for both guns. That's what I do with my AR15 and AR57.

Thanks. There is a pretty good gunsmith near me so I will contact him to see what he can do. I will put a QD on my AR15, and probably the FS2000. Of course, I won't be getting the suppressor until December/January but might as well start looking into things now.

Just like pretty much every other assault rifle on the market :lmao: I honestly doubt that anything a civvie could throw at it (short of a balls-out carbine course conducted in a sandbox) with the gaskets taken out would cause any issues.

Removing the gaskets was discussed before, if not on this forum then on the old forum BC (before crash) & might be in the archives. Anyway, something about getting debris inside & it gums up the works.

If you want to do it to yours, have at it & let us know how it works. I see no reason to worry about it & certainly see no reason to damage the gun which might hurt the resale value.
