SIG ACP
SIG ACP
What is the purpose of this? I don't see this being any where near as useful as a true PDW (subgun or SBR). Sig copying CAA, what are they thinking in NH anymore.

Apparently it goes great with the chinese made red dot with Sig's name on it.

Re: SIG ACP
What do you mean, "whats the point"? Sig is a business. The point of a business is to make money. They are going to sell thousands of these to Ninja Mall Cops (NMCs)...

Re: SIG ACP
Meh. Throw a stock on it and it's cheaper than a Berreta CX4 Storm and does all the same things. Pistol caliber carbines are fun. Pistol caliber SBRs are even more fun.
Re: SIG ACP
Mike,
I know the point is to make money, I'm just curious to know how many of these will actually sell. I never real saw the CAA's RONI being a hot seller by any means. Just seems like there was better things to put money into then this for SIG. They make some great guns, but I seriously wonder what they are thinking sometimes. I know of quite a few people who have turned away from them because of stuff like this (same goes with other companies too).
SRT,
I'm curious to know how many people are going to go through with the tax stamp to put a stock on it. And they look like they are marketing it to or trying to market it to police departments, I really wonder how many do they think are going to buy.

Re: SIG ACP
You're questioning Sig for that? Glock did that a long time ago with the Mako

Patent probably expired & now Sig wants some of the tacti-action

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.
Re: SIG ACP
the more i think about it, the more decent it becomes with the stamp. you have the versitility of changing calibers with just one frame.

The more I think about it, the less i want it. Just me.
Re: SIG ACP
Forgot about the Glock version from Mako. I tend to group CAA, Mako, TacStar, UTG, etc all together.
And Seahawk, think how cool you would look duel wielding them. You could even put a bayonet, and a punisher sticker on it.

The ACP has renewed my interest in the FiveseveN. Regarding the "retard" statement: my 157 IQ allows me to understand that a FsN in one of these is a much less expensive and much easier to acquire alternative for someone like myself who would like to have something like an HK MP7. Parts and accessories are probably more abundant as well. Plus I can use any of my railed pistols with it. It's not too expensive, so if I don't like it I can sell it to somebody who does.
I'm not too interested in doing the SBR thing right now. If you could serialize and register just the chassis instead of $tamping every freaking gun you want to use with it, then I would do it. I don't know. Maybe you can now. I'm a little rusty on my NFA knowledge. Even without the stock, you can get more stability with proper use of the sling.
However, I'm unfamiliar with the sight packaged with it and will replace it with an Aimpoint Micro, Trijicon RMR or similar. Also, I would have liked it better if the side and bottom rails were removable as I don't intend to G it out with lights, lasers, 20x mil dot scope, bubble level, gps, etc.. I guess some ladder rail pieces would give better grip.
As for marketing, I'm quite sure SIG did their homework on this. Yeah, it might end up being a niche item here, but there could be higher demand elsewhere in the world.

Re: SIG ACP
FsN + EA 8" barrel + Supressor + CAA RONI = Win.
Like the Glock models, this offers caliber options, but having to Stamp each pistol would/does suck.

Re: SIG ACP
but why would you want 20rd (or 30) instead of the 50rd mag? and also you can get the brass catcher for the ps90 and no one will know you were there :skep:Mister Freeze wrote:Yes, but using the FsN mags!

Re: SIG ACP
That and the two tax stamps ($400), can ($600) and stock ($550) are nearly the price of a PS90 by themselves. Then you have to have an FsN which is another grand...

Re: SIG ACP
I'd rather have the 20/30-round FsN mags than the 50-rounders for the same reasons I have many 30-round Pmags for my ARs in stead of trying to strap three or four Beta C-mags to my LBV. They are more compact, lower profile in the pouch and in the weapon, more easily manipulated and loaded and less expensive to buy and replace. Plus, the manual of arms for a FsN/ACP is more like of an AR, SCAR, ACR, MP5, etc..fzr confused wrote:but why would you want 20rd (or 30) instead of the 50rd mag? and also you can get the brass catcher for the ps90 and no one will know you were there :skep:Mister Freeze wrote:Yes, but using the FsN mags!
I love the P90 design and have wanted one since they were released, but without SBRing them, the FsN/ACP is a more compact package.
Lastly, I couldn't care less about a brass catcher. Anybody who really NEEDS a brass catcher (who isn't a criminal) probably doesn't need to worry about civilian compliance or pesky equipment budgets.
