Storm Lake Barrels
Storm Lake Barrels
I was just wondering has anyone on here ever had any experience with these barrels? The barrel for the gun I would be replacing isn't shot out or anything, and has less than 1000 rounds down it, I'm just wondering if Storm Lake's barrels (for Glocks and Sigs) are exponentially better than the manufacturer's (for my 1911 there is a ton of options and that one got replaced fairly quickly with another companies). I looked around online, and people on different forums said they bought them, but never followed up with a range report or anything, just pics of their gun with it in. Any feedback on them (accuracy, reliability, or do they just look pretty compared to a stock barrel) is appreciated. As always, thanks in advance to everyone on here.
Re: Storm Lake Barrels
with a glock at least, they are great barrels. The one thing is that they have tighter chambers than factory barrels. Glock makes loose chambers so almost any ammo will fit/feed everytime.

Re: Storm Lake Barrels
:thumb: I put a Storm Lake in my Glock 20, also have some Lone Wolf barrels for it. Very pleased with both.
edit, add: I think if you reload it's a must.

Re: Storm Lake Barrels
What does this mean? I have been going back and forth between the EAA 10mm and the G20SF for about a year now. When I was looking at aftermarket barrels for the G21 everyone seemed to mention the fact that you can shoot lead in the storm lake with more ease than in factory. I have never gotten into (or had the chance to) shoot lead bullets. what makes this barrel different from stock in regards to being able to shoot lead?satellitedr3ams wrote: had supported chambers so I could shoot crappy ammo if I wanted to.
Sorry to semi hijack.
Re: Storm Lake Barrels
See how much of the case is unsupported in the Glock.
Even Glock knew that had a problem so they supported the 40 more but the 10mm still needs it.

Storm Lake is the best barrel money can buy off the shelf. The only better is made to order Schuemen.

Re: Storm Lake Barrels
I was just looking at Storm Lake bbls for a 9mm conversion to a G31.
Honestly, many worry about accuracy. A shooter will rarely outshoot their equipment or bbl. However, there is nothing wrong with having a very accurate bbl in a rifle, especially.

Re: Storm Lake Barrels
I'm definitely going to pick up a Storm Lake for 220, and told my friend for his Glock about Lone Wolf as well. I think I'm gonna send my factory barrel for my 220 (the one I bought back in July) off to be threaded. Thanks for everyone's input.
Re: Storm Lake Barrels
looking forward to the day when Storm Lake starts offering their barrels in a black finish.
Re: Storm Lake Barrels
I have a .357 sig barrel from storm lake in my S&W M&P .40, and I love it. They are great quality stainless steel pistol barrels, and truly drop in. I didn't have to do any fitting. Also, the stainless barrel just looks cool in an all black gun.
