Eotech XPS3-0 vs EXPS3-0????

Hey all, in shopping for an optic for my on-order new PS90 TR, I'm trying to decide on the difference between the EXPS and XPS version of the Eo. I have read the differences about QD and co-witness, but I guess my question is are they needed? Obviously the slightly shorter more compact XPS makes the overall gun height less and closer to barrel line as well. Just curious on anyones thoughts out there about the difference and who has gone which way on this issues. EXPS or XPS for the PS90.

I put the XPS2-2 on my AR57. I was originally planning on going with the EXPS because I really wanted the side mounted controls to avoid the MBUS (which is mounted right behind the EOTech) from interfering with button access. After trying both units on for size at my local gun shop, I ultimately decided to go with the XPS and moving my MBUS back one notch because I preferred the full cowitness to a 1/3 cowitness. Also the height over the barrel on an AR57 (or PS90) is already more than I like because of where that wonderful 50 round magazine sits).

Look at it from the side at a wider view. With the proper cheek weld, the sight touches my nose. The MBUS can be moved forward one notch, but then it can block access to the EOTech's controls and I definitely didn't want to do that. I thought about removing the MBUS altogether because of that, but with virtually zero recoil, I don't have to worry about it impacting me anywhere important (like my eye) :laugh: I guess I went the lesser of 2 evils...

More on topic... the EOTech XPS works great with the 5.7 platform - again with little recoil you stay on target with every shot!

great input and thanks...now my rookie-ness is showing though....how can you cowitness w/ no irons on a ps90 TR. especially of SBRed, even if i could fit a rear iron there is no location for a front site. so now i'm really confused on cowitness on the ps90 tr. thanks for the input...now just help me unconfuse. love this forum! cant wait to show my new acquisition off once assembled.

Yep, me, too. Very effective man/machine interface. Singular purpose, very well executed. Tight weld, trained eyes, good work.
