2012 Elections

Post by Shaokhano » 08 Apr 2011, 19:18

I'm just wondering what direction is everyone going in? I myself would love to Trump run and win. I think he would be great for the economy, he probably has a hell of a lot better foreign experience, and he seems like he wouldn't back down form anything that could possibly threaten America.

Not really sure yet, don't know if I want to see Trump run.

I'll tell you who WON'T be getting elected:

The only question I have on trump is whether he is actually principled or just pretending to be, will be hard for him to prove it.

At about the 2:30 mark, he is talking about how disturbed people are going to be after the gov shuts down. Maybe it is the conspiracy theorist in me but anyone think that may be the plan to get things through on the budget that otherwise might not make it?

Here is why I think this:
The bailout - rushed through without oversight and with so much paperwork that no one could fully read/edit it in the time allowed.
obama care - pushed through without oversight and with so much paperwork that no one could fully read/edit it in the time allowed.

Budget? No time left... Any bets on a repeat of the other fiascoes of this administration?

Glad Jim Moran is not from Idaho :furious:

ok, nevermind - looks like they pulled it out & cut the budget $38bil. I still have to finish reading the story to see how much good that is...

I'd rather vote for Steven from Your Highness. Just got back from seeing it and it was probably the funniest movie I've seen sense Tropic Thunder. Defiantly not for kid's though.

I like Trump but I doubt he'll win the republican knod for two reasons. Primarily; he comes off angry. Angry maniacal candidates never make the cut. Secondarily, this whole birth certificate thing makes him look like a loon. I really DO think he'd be good for the country though. Drill baby drill!

I'm almost thinking Trump is just positioning for a VP spot, in all reality what he would be good at is communicating the issues with the american people in a way they aren't used to the president doing, and it might be a good thing to have him in a position where he can go spout off a bit more and still have the business side of him in the loop.

At least he wouldn't fall asleep while the President was giving a speech - heck Trump would probably interrupt the President.

What I would to say here is "WOW! even a crazy man can see he would be good for the country." That's what I want to, but with Gary's endorsement the new age population. Will say look Gary's voting for him nope I'm go with BHO cause he has the cast of jersey shore endorsing him.

You're right. He's fooked. Best thing that ever happened to Bam Bam was having Busey start campaigning for Trump.
Good thing we have people like Allen West still out there. I hope he tosses his hat in the ring so we can have a SERIOUS contender for the White House.

I know I should go ahead and block MSNBC from my TV but I just can't help myself. I love watching it and trying to understand how hardcore Dem's think. I swear it's almost funnier than Comedy Central. Anyway they are really pushing hard against Trump and to be honest the more I hear him talk the more I'm falling in love with the idea. So right now there big thing is he should get off the birth certificate issue it makes him look bad, he should be talking about economy and jobs yadda yadda yadda. So I'm curious about your opinion's should he get off the birth issue right now and focus on serious issues or should he take this fight in the mud and use ever dirty underhanded trick in the book to beat this (Insert personal favorite term for BHO here). Which I still say McCain could of won if he would of done that, but no he held his head up high and took the high road because he believed in the American people to do the right thing (IDIOT). O well I'm just curious what you think.

Trump isn't stupid.
He's probably got his own PROOF or he wouldn't keep beating the horse.
Do you think that with the resources he has, he hasn't already proved it before he brought it up?
That's MY thoughts anyway.
But again, what does it matter. They (the Demoncrats) would either try to pass an Amendment to the Constitution to allow a foreign born to be prez or, WORSE, make Joe Biden prez.

I can't answer that because I still view him as some clown who keeps filing bankruptcy and likes to fire people. But then I haven't done any research on him nor have I paid attention to anything he has said/done in several years...

Mitch Daniels is the real deal. I hope he runs. I will work my tail off on his campaign. He is the only guy I am excited about on the republican side. I would vote for others, I just don't really think they have a great shot to win. Daniels just needs a way to get his name out there. I feel once people see his real record and his real plan to tackle the deficit, Obama wouldnt stand a chance

Everybody pays so much attention to this birther crap and it takes attention away from other issues that dems really want to push through silently. Watching Beck the other night he said that Van Jones was working with some hippie libtard group in SF that was seeking to give mother nature "civil rights". Groups like this are at the core of the problems with this country. They start rediculous campaigns to stifle American prosperity under the guise of protecting mother nature until American companies can't do business here. The saddest part about it is our current adminsitration embraces these folks giving the EPA reason to stop oil/gas exploration. Oil and gas today, logging tomorrow and hunting right in the future. It may not ever happen but the EPA just gave one major oil company (Shell) a big middle finger after they spent 4 billion and 5 years to look for gas and oil in Alaska.

You hit the nail on the head. I'm getting tired of the birther crap as well... as Chuck found out today when he brought it up to me. :p

We need somebody who will have the balls big enough to tell the libtards 'NO', and American Industry 'YES' so we can get our economy rolling again.
I just hope and pray to god that it isn't too late to un-do all that has been done...
Padre, I wouldn't stand a ghosts chance in Hades. IF the American people were stupid enough to send me up there, the first thing I'd do is stand idiots like Pelosi, Frank and Reid up against the wall and put a 10MM vent hole through their cranium. Either that or I'd make dadgum sure that they could all be held CRIMINALLY responsible for their actions over the last decade or two.
Yeah, that would probably be the safest course of action. I wouldn't want to go to prison over idiots like them.

That's just cold hearted politicians are real people. They have real concern's in life like; How will I get the tax payers to pay my bills?, How will I get reelected/(hired to do nothing yet make it seem like i'm doing something)? and the most important question every politician axe's themselves is "How am I going to stay out of jail?" So you see they are real people with real concerns. Just because Poly means Many and a Tic it a blood sucking creature. Well that has nothing to do with anything.

http://www.accuracy.org/release/big-oil ... n-revenue/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
“ExxonMobil and Shell today announced skyrocketing profits, as did BP yesterday, and as Chevron will tomorrow. The reason is simple: Prices at the gas pump are jumping, even though the cost of drilling hasn’t changed for the giant integrated firms. Big Oil is able to pocket the difference — at the direct expense of consumers.

“Beneficiaries of such a windfall certainly should not be the recipients of billions in government subsidies.

ABC News is reporting today: “Exxon Mobil and Royal Dutch Shell today reported first-quarter profit increases of 69 percent and 30 percent, respectively, from the same period last year. With rising gas and oil prices, analysts expected the five biggest oil companies — with Exxon as the largest — to report that they are swimming in revenue.”

AP is reporting: “Venezuela is imposing a windfall profits tax on royalties from oil projects when crude prices are above $40 a barrel, seeking to squeeze as much as $16 billion mostly out of foreign oil companies, the government said Tuesday.”
Not to draw a conclusion or anything, but if Venezuela is imposing a tax on profits after some point, and we're subsidizing profits with no minimum: we're basically giving our tax revenues/borrowed money directly to Cuba if we subsidize. That's in addition to actually buying their product.

Seems like the only one getting the middle finger is me.

You're kidding right? Can you show me where the US Government is subsidizing the oil industry?

It doesn't. The only one making huge profits on oil is the State and Federal Government.

Here's the breakdown for California
http://energyalmanac.ca.gov/gasoline/margins/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
State Underground Storage Tank Fee: $0.02
State and Local Sales Tax: $0.12
State Excise Tax: $0.35
Federal Excise Tax: $0.18
Total Taxes: $0.67/gal

Yep, that's right, the government takes in 15.8% of the cost per gallon (at $4.22/gal in CA).

If by "subsidizing" you mean, they're letting them keep more of the money they earn through tax cuts and the ability to write off expenses like normal business... that isn't subsidizing, that is not taking money that they someone else earned.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subsidy#Overview" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"A subsidy is money given by a government to help support a business or person the market does not support."

Here's a good read: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/exxon-e ... uge-taxes/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

When I went to school Monday to get registered for this summer semester there was somebody riding around with "Who killed Osama? Obama killed Osama!!" all over their car windows. I wanted to tell them no he didn't.

The sad part is that isn't the way the dem's/lib's see it. They won't look at everything Bush did to get us there. All they know is Hussein was in the office when it happened and he all but said I put the bullet in his head. The dem's and lib's won't think about the CIA officer that gathered the intelligence that lead the navy Seal's that had to go ungodly amount of training to do there job not to mention I'm sure the Army had to do a little extra work to keep the al-Cutie guy busy and let's not forget the badass predator drone's that probably made one hell of an assault. Nope all they know is the hussein did it all. Now the question is are we going the conservative minded people going to stand up and say HADES NO and elect someone worth a damn or we just going to let them pick our candidate again like they picked McCain.
