FN SCAR 17 MAGAZINES

Post by tombirdman » 22 Mar 2011, 10:12

:wall: :wall: :wall:

Why oooh Why can't FN provide their SCAR 17s, expensive rifle, owners with magazines for their 17s?

We have all heard about providing the military first with it's needs. We all agree with that but they also chose to sell their 17s to LEOs and civilians.
When they made that choice they should have realized that they had the responsibility to, also, provide magazines !!!!

FN has been saying for months, if not a year, that they would make these magazines plentiful.
Some have, indeed, been lucky and received some.

I, for one, have had them on backorder and the back-up orders keep getting backed up to a latter date.

They are playing games with their customers and I don't like it !

FN seems great at creating a need and then = { SLOWLY } meeting it.
Kind of like - Make them chomp at the bit, get them real hungry and then slowly feed them.

I have been told by FN not to pay scalper prices for magazines but there are now no scalper magazines to be had anyway.
That these magazines would soon be plentifull. " WHEN ? "

This situation is getting old = Real Fast ! :wall: :wall: :wall:

C-PRODUCTS makes a 25 round SCAR17 magazine. I have read mixed reports on these so I don't know whether to buy them or not ?

FN likes to put us over a barrel and leave us hanging for awhile. " WHY ? "

They say they can only make so many per month. OK then why not farm it out to another manufacturer or put on another shift or line at the factory.
There is an answere, they have the responsibility to find it !

I am not the only one out there with this problem !
Just probably one of the loudest, but I am sure I speak for many!

I can't speak on behalf of FN.

If I were to posit a guess it would follow that FN has always placed precedence on the MIL needs; as such, they are still doing so and have not been allowed or themselves allowed the capacity to provide magazines to the civilian public.
Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.

That would be a good excuse if the same thing hadn't happened with the fnar.

Perhaps demand was not high enough. And it remains a failure, if used in place of an excuse, on FN's reputation.

Yeah, FNAR mags are retarded. $80+ for a simple box mag? Blech. That was easily my biggest gripe about that platform.

tombirdman,
I think my dealer has several on the shelf for $42 each. Gosh, I did not notice if you were after black or FDE - all the " :wall: "'s you posted are kind of anoying and make the post kind of distacting to read.
PM me if you are interested and I will pass his contact info to - I would hate to think of you going through the rest of your life with a flat forehead over some mags... :)
Good luck and good shooting to all...

If you disagree with what I say = DON'T READ THIS !!!

If you don't think things are a little out of control; go to GUNBROKER and look at the price one guy is getting for one SCAR 17 FDE magazine.
He started out low; he has 17 bids; the price is now $175.00 for one FN 17 mag.

This guy didn't start out being a scalper but the 17 bids put him there.
That is a mesure of the desperation out there !

The really shitty thing is that it has been a couple of months since the real scalpers have been on. NONE TO SELL!

Is this panic our fault or FNs for not supplying the market.

Don't give me that crap about the military needs to be served first = they are !
If FN couldn't take care of their civilian market, they shouldn't have tried tell they were ready ! Yes I am glad I have my 17s but I am not happy that FN didn't have the foresight to know that the civilian market would want more than one magazine.

I don't wan't to hear about people hoarding magazines ! That's their right and why wouldn't they when they are worried that they might not see another. If they see them, pay the asking price then they have a right to them ! This is capitalism not socialism. Are you going to limit the number available to only 6 per person. Try to enforce that !
If I want 2,000 and can pay for them and think I can make money by scalping them or I just want them than that is life.
If FNH was doing their part none of this would be happening.
They can flood the market with them anytime they want to by opening up production. They are the only ones in control of that. How they do it is their problem but they could do it.

They don't want to get stuck with over production and no market. I don't blame them but they could find an in between answere.

THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM IS THAT FNH IS REFUSING TO MATCH THE MARKET !
THE FAULT IS NOBODYS BUT THEIRS !
THEY ARE SHAFTING THEIR CUSTOMERS FOR THEIR OWN ADVANTAGE !

I RECOGNIZE IT AND DON'T LIKE IT !!!
IT IS TOTALLY UN-NECESSARY AND A BLACK MARK ON FN - CIVILIAN DIVISION.

Tom

P.S.

This Is attached to the wrong persons entry. THIS GUY IS A "GENTLEMAN & SCHOLAR !"
Very seldom that you get to meet someone as nice as he is.

I am also sorry for offending anyone with my RANTS !

I see the world through my eyes -only and my eye sight isn't 20/20 !
I live in middle Nebraska. One gun shop in 100+ miles ands not a very good one.
Those that have what they need , I can see why you think I am NUTS!
For that matter, I never said I wasnt!

Just exercising my right to say how I feel on this board. Tought that is what it's for.
Wasn't aware I had to be 100% correct in the oppinions of 100% of all the readers.
I appologize to those I have offended !

This forum isnt for you to rant. He even offer to help you. If you want to do that go to the pointless announcements. If you want more mags then make them your damn self instead of whining about them not making enough for you to be able to find because you are too careless to look. I was about to offer some of the ones I got in today to you for a smoking price until I seen how you react to others and your attitude.

Your personal attacks on me only show your age and mental state !

The topic wasn't me !

It was what I said !

If you disagree with what I said; This is an open forum, so voice your oppinion of what I said. NOT ME!

As far as my right to say it; the forums are for discussion. I have been proven wrong, more than once. I don't think I am wrong here. You do. "OK!" I won't insult you personally for having an oppinion. If there were no complaints on the boards, they would die instantly ! The forums are for discussion, education and venting.
Why do you want to control freedom of speech that is than followed by discussion.

Speaking of rants = { WHAT ARE YOU DOING ? }

By the way - I like your chill pill and copied it. Thanks

Not appropriate both tombirdman and satellitedr3ams.

tombirdman, this is a privately owned forum, it is not so "open" as you claim. Yes, we fully believe in freedom of speech, however some things should be left unsaid... or pony up for a forum membership and there is a more appropriate section do rant.

Both users have been issued warnings.
