Is the FNX catching on?

Post by tcba_joe » 14 Jan 2011, 16:51

I got to try the FNP-9 several months ago. I was in love. Great gun.

I'd like to get an FNX-9 once I have the cash. My one hang-up is the ever obvious holster issue. I'd like to pick up both a G-Code style holster for my warbelt setup, as I'd like to go to the TRI setup, and a Raven concealment style kydex IWB-tuckable.

I emailed G-Code to see if there are plans or they'd do a one-off, but no answer yet.

Does anyone know if there will be future support for this pistol? I'm not really sure if I want to go with a Serpa, much less one not made for another handgun entirely.

I know this is probably a common complaint, but I had to ask the FN people here.

I do believe the FNP/FNX can use the same holsters, but you would to clarify with the holster Mfg. Maybe someone else here will chime in or a dealer that has both in stock.

I'm personally waiting for the FNS :)

I think they'll use the same holsters. However finding FNP holsters is difficult.

Rick from G-Code responded to a thread I had going over on ARF. He says the FNP fits the SP2022 holster.

As for the FNS... not my style, but cool none the less.

?

Blade-tech, fobus and blackhawk (to name a few) make holsters for the FNPs. I have a blade-tech for mine.

I found some blade-techs. Looks like it may be the way to go. Hopefully I can get it without any mounting hardware to keep costs down. I don't really want a tek-lok or paddle since I'm gonna have to buy RTI harware anyways.

I really don't like the fobus holsters. I also couldn't find any Serpas. The only thing I've found are posts to the extent of "the serpa for the (XD,. Glock, HK...) fit my FNP-9 about 90%"

Blade-Tech made the holster that came with my FNX, it is the same one for the FNP. I know that Crossbreed makes FNP SuperTuck Deluxe's too.

I just bought the FNX9 a few months ago and my holster is the Crossbreed supertuck for the FNP. It fits perfectly. Also I have a 5.11 version dual mag holder made by bladethech. Here is a couple videos I made showing the two. The vids are nothing special, I'm not a big Youtuber.

This is my 1000k round thoughts. If I didn't say it in the video I have not had a single malfunction.
